The trippy electronica of Paul Oakenfold’s ‘Ready Steady Go’ swelled outside as Nick kicked his bedroom door closed, the song’s urgent rhythm pulling a loud cheer from Tarquin’s disciples.
Evie gasped between kisses, her feverish hands tearing at the buttons on Nick’s shirt. “I want you so badly.”
Nick’s thumb stroked along her jaw. “You don’t know how long I’ve waited for this.”
“Oh, I think I might!” she answered breathlessly, ignoring the nervous jitters in her belly. Is this really happening? Yanking his button-down open, Evie claimed his mouth again with a hurried sweep of her tongue.
Nick kissed her deeper, harder as he stepped backward, his hand flirting with the downy hair at the nape of her neck. His tender touch aroused a shiver of pleasure and a ribbon of goosebumps along her skin.
My fantasy is FINALLY coming true! Eyes closing, she tasted and teased, staggering with him into the room until their legs collided with the bed. Suddenly they were falling, toppling together in a gropey jumble of clashing teeth and tongues.
A burst of giggles bubbled up Evie’s throat. She straddled Nick’s thighs as he sat up.
“You okay?” Playfulness rippled in his voice. Tilting his head, he swept Evie’s bangs from her lashes and pressed a kiss against her temple. His gaze burned with longing. “I’m sorry. I should’ve been here. The whole Greece thing with—”
Evie shut him up with another kiss. “It’s okay,” she whispered, her fingers happily in his hair. “You’re here now. That’s all that matters.” Burying her nose in his neck, she inhaled deeply, the faint scent of body wash mingling with perspiration. He smells amazing. A loved-up sigh escaping, she trailed her tongue along his collarbone, the saltiness of his skin coaxing her into a long, wet suck.
Nick’s head fell back with an open-mouthed groan. “Ahhh, Evie. That feels…” His throat bobbed hard. “Listen, we don’t have to rush. If you’re not feeling well or sure—”
“Oh, I’m sure! SO sure!” Evie resumed her amorous spree, peppering tiny kisses across his jaw. “It’s all I think about. You”—she kissed him again—“deep inside me.” Rolling her hips, she met the hot ridge straining against the zipper of Nick’s jeans and drew in a sharp, celebratory breath as a swift “Fuck” bolted from his lips.
Smiling devilishly, Evie rested her forehead against Nick’s. “I wanna watch you come.”
“Yeah?” His grip loosened on her ass. “But could we, uh, discuss something first?”
“About protection?” She grazed his lower lip with her thumb. “I got us covered, SaxyBoy.”
His grin tugged beneath her finger. “You’re amazing, you know that?”
With a flirty response teasing on her tongue, Evie’s gaze jumped upward, meeting Nick’s, but instead of naughtiness staring back, a crease troubled his brow.
Her heart flipped. “What’s wrong? Did I—” Oh god! She swept her cheek in a panic. “Is it my face?”
“Face? No.” He dragged his hand through the front of his hair, unruly and ravished by her overeager fingers. “Evie, you—you’re beautiful. You’re perfect.”
But…? A flutter of unease swooped in her belly.
“I’m, uh…” Nick winced and looked away. “I haven’t actually…gone all the way.”
Evie froze as his eye-popping confession careened, crashing into her brain’s overflowing archive of Nick-centric sex fantasies. She blinked slowly, a croaky “Oh?” all she could muster.
A blush bloomed across his cheeks. “I have messed around, though. I’ve had oral, given it too. I know what the clitoris is—”
“Right!” Hoping he wouldn’t divulge explicit anecdotes about his ex, Evie fell into a continuous nod as questions began exploding in her mind like heated popcorn kernels.
“But I haven’t had full-on penetrative sex,” he added quietly, his uneasy gaze slowly shifting, seeking hers. “I can imagine how that sounds after watching Dalston, but every kiss, every touch was choregraphed by our director. Nothing was improvised or stolen from real life—well, not my life.”
So Nick’s a virgin—sorta. Evie’s shock evaporated, surrendering to a sense of relief. He was less experienced than she was. “So…you’re not like Jake at all.”
“Nope. Not even close.”
She smiled. “Well, I think the real Nick is way better.”
He let out a held breath. “You sure?”
“Nick, who am I to judge? I’m not the most experienced either.”
