“Kristina, fated mates cannot cheat,”
His words hit hard. My eyes widen.
“Wait, what? What do you mean?”
“Reapers are bound by their dead souls. Its fucking disgusting, they should just stay dead. They are an abomination, what they are doing is wrong.” He snarls.
“But, but…” I stammer, making him and his goons laugh.
“He really got stuck with a defective one, huh?” the fucker laughs, his words making my spine stiffen. “Oh, well not that it matters you will both be dead soon and there will be no chance of you ever coming back.”
“What are you going to do?” I hate that my voice trembles.
“Lure that fucker here and end you both finally, then hit the club, killing every devil spawn in there. The Lord Christ will help and protect us. Now let’s get started.”
The fist connects with my jaw, and my world goes black.
I blink away the fog that is rolling through my brain. The pain hits me all at once, once I can focus. I cry out. My body aches like it has gone through ten rounds with a boxer, and skin feels tight, and stinging.
“Oh, the whore is awake.”
Tuning my head, I try to move my body, but panic sets in when I feel that I am tied, spread eagle on my bed. Tears run down the side of my face, the skin stung like I have been slapped.
He walks towards me a knife in his hand.
“It would seem that your mate does not consider you important to him. Maybe he is fucking some other whore while you are here, being tortured by me. Clearly, I got some bad intel when it comes to fated mates.” He laughs, the sounds makes my skin crawl.
His words are like a dagger to the heart, and my soul rips apart.
Tyson should have felt my pain through the bond; he should have come for me. Maybe I am not that important to him, he might be fighting the need to come save me. I am not sure how this shit works, but if I die, will he get a new soul mate?
“Just kill me. Clearly your plan was a shit one, or he would be here by now.” I cry.
He hums, flicking the knife like a skill he enjoyed learning.
“Maybe. But it is fun hurting you. It is wrong that you are now connected to him, to a demon. So that makes you a disgusting demon.”
“Yep. Disgusting demon. So, kill me. End my misery.”
“Maybe I will.” The knife slides over my collarbone; I cry out, my back arching in agony.
“Maybe you should step away from my woman.” Is snarled.
My body sighs in relief.
Prying my eyes open, my vision is blurry from the pain, but I see Tyson standing in the doorway.
“Ty.” Is all I say before the sound of fighting starts.
Men yell and scream, a hear a gun go off in the distance. Thuds sound around my apartment, which I assume is buddies dripping to the floor.
“Get her out of here, Doc is at the club.” I hear a deep voice say.
“Fuck, baby.” Tyson’s voice is soft, which makes me cry harder. “This is going to hurt, but I have to move you.”
I nod, my voice stolen by the pain.
Once I am untied, I feel Tyson’s arms slip under my body, making me gasp and cry out. Tyson mutters his apologies repeatedly as I am carried out of my home.
