Dread shook his head. I pouted and batted my eyelashes at him. It always worked on Charm and Bliss.
“Your health is more important than your pouts.” He nodded to where Charm and Bliss were seated. “Go. Let them massage you before you shower.”
He’d said the magical word, massage. Massages were my favorite part of the day. After each training session, Charm and Bliss massaged me together. Having both their hands on my body at the same time was heaven. They waved me over.
I approached them slowly. My legs were aching from the sprints I’d done with Rage earlier. I’d been so excited about training with Dread, that I’d been able to ignore the pain and focus on trying to last five minutes.
Now that the training was over and my body knew it could relax, all the stresses I’d put on it today were awakening and reminding me that I was part human. Groaning, I plopped down onto the massage mat between Charm and Bliss. Face pressed against the mat, I sighed. It felt good to lie down.
“Our little one is getting stronger,” Charm said as soon as his hands landed on my thighs. “I just hope you don’t lose your curves. I love the way you’re shaped.”
Smiling, I closed my eyes. Charm was definitely good for my ego. With all the strawberry-filled donuts they’d purchased for me, there was no way I was losing any of these curves. My shadows made sure Vayn kept his cabinets and refrigerator stocked with things I liked. Seriously, if I wasn’t afraid of getting demerits, I would never return to my own apartment.
I would stay here forever, with my guardian and our shadows. Though I wasn’t at risk of losing my curves, I had become more toned and stronger. I could now hold my own with the other students in my night training class, which was something I’d never been able to do before.
Jenn and Jenn hated me more than ever now. However, they no longer taunted me. No one did. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t because of my new skills, even though they were pretty badass. It was more because my guardian often growled from the shadows whenever anyone said anything out of line to me. But a win was a win.
A sigh escaped me as Bliss massaged my shoulders. These two had magical hands that could work wonders. Together, they rubbed away all the stress from my body. I wish I could return the favor and rub away their stresses also. I wasn’t talking about rubbing their arms and legs.
I wanted to rub something else. My thoughts sent arousal coursing through me. Growls filled the room. It was a sound I loved. As tired as I was, there was no wonder that their growls lulled me to sleep. I awoke to Rage pressing a kiss against my forehead. I knew it was him before my eyes fluttered open.
I could sense his energy close to me. And I knew his unique scent. When I opened my eyes, sure enough, I came face to face with Rage. There was always a longing in his gaze that made me want to pull him close and never let him go. Resisting that urge was hard, but I managed.
“Hi,” I whispered.
“Hi, little one,” Rage greeted me with a smile.
“How long have I been asleep?”
“Twenty minutes.”
“Twenty minutes?” I sat up to find my shadows surrounding me. “Why didn’t you guys awaken me earlier? Vayn is going to kill me. I was supposed to meet him in his room to practice dream traveling.”
“It was him who told us to let you sleep a little longer,” Rage informed me.
“Oh. Really?” I pushed an errant strand of hair behind my ear and pressed my lips together to keep from smiling.
“Yes,” Rage said before reaching for my hand to help me to my feet. “Go shower. I’ve already laid your clothes out on the bathroom counter.”
See, this kind of treatment was why I never wanted to go home.
“Thanks.”
“You’re welcome, little one. Do you want to try teleporting to the bathroom?”
I shook my head. This moment was going too perfectly. I didn’t want to ruin it by failing to teleport into the bathroom.
“I’ll take you,” Bliss offered, taking my hand from Rage.
Instead of growling like he used to, Rage relinquished my hand to Bliss with no fuss. They were getting used to sharing my attention. And I was getting used to being lavished with attention from them. If I had to let them go after graduation, well, that was going to be hard to do. It made me teary-eyed just thinking about it. I blinked back those tears as Bliss teleported me to the bathroom.
“Do you need me to wash your back, or your feet, maybe your ears?” he asked, smiling, cheering me up with his playful mood. “I’ll wash anything you tell me to wash.”
“If I said yes, would you really do it?” I teased.
His smile evaporated. “I’d do anything you asked me to.”
Heat flooded my body. These sweet and sexy shadows were going to ruin me for all other males.
