She sounded so sexy, it took his dirty mind a minute to realize what she’d said. When it did, all he could do was grin, again.

“You motherfucker,” he told her.

“I thought I was your kitten?” She said sweetly.

“You are. You want me to deal the cards. Okay, I will. Just remember the rules. Don’t start whining when you lose. Just take them panties off like a good girl.”

“I won’t be losing this time. I’m on to your tricks.”

“We’ll see.” He picked the cards up and started dealing. “You keep the score this round too. I don’t want you complaining about me cheating or nothing.”

She picked up the score card. “Yeah, yeah.”

He didn’t miss the slight smile on her face as she stared at the score card. His mate was enjoying her time with him. This was the perfect Christmas Eve. Problem was, it was too perfect. Things in his life never went this well.

Winter

Winter stared down at the cards on the table.

Impossible! Utterly impossible. There was no way he’d won again. No way he’d beaten her. She’d played this game in the Wastelands all the time. She was a pro at it. Yet, this damn vampire beat her again.

“I won.” His deep voice filled the silence of the room.

“Time to pay up, baby,” Vicky cooed.

Winter remained silent as she tried to figure out.

“House rules says you have to pay up,” Vicky reminded her.

She knew what the damn house rules said. She was the one who came up with them. Mainly, because she’d been sure she’d be victorious.

“I was hoping we’d lose. I’ve never hoped for a loss. It felt strange. Oh well. I’ll feel better once he starts tongue fucking us.”

He cheated. He had to have cheated. But she’d kept her eyes on his hands, his large hands, the entire time. Damn, he had some long fingers.”

“The better to stroke you with, my dear,” Vicky cooed.

“I’m done reading fairytales for you.”

“You can be his little red riding hood and he can be your big, bad, wolfish vampire. Do we have a red cloak anywhere in here? We can role play.”

“Did you hear me?” Rhen growl.

She’d been so focused on listening to Vicky, his voice nearly made her jump out of her skin.

“Answer him.”

She would think of a way out of this. She was the best military strategist in the world. She could think of a way out of this.

“One more game. Best two out of three,” she suggested, grabbing the cards.

He placed his hand on hers when she reached for the deck. “Those weren’t the rules, Kitten.”

She could feel his eyes on her. But she couldn’t bring herself to look up at him.

“Stop with all the sexual tension. Our body needs sexual healing. Spread them thighs, Kitten,” Vicky growled.
