“Tell me about it,” Lee said.

“But I like the way Sin handled her. Before you guys came in, Jenn was just saying how she was surprised Kaede married a weakling. I guess she now knows that Kaede married a warrior witch.”

“Warrior Witch? I like that title,” Sin stated.

“It fits you. Ladies, give me those pies so I can put them in the refrigerator with the rest of the pies you made.”

Sin and Lee helped Marta load the pies into the refrigerator. Once they were done, they wished Marta a Merry Christmas Eve and left the main building.

“What’s that building called anyway?” Sin asked. “Kaede just calls it the main building.”

“A lot of people do. It’s actually called the Dark Tower.”

“What?”

“Or, the tower. The previous leader named it that. He had some issues.”

“I’ll call it the tower. You know you don’t have to walk me home, right?”

“I’m just making sure Jenn doesn’t double back, and you two get into a fight.”

“That hoe wouldn’t last one round.”

“I don’t want you two fighting, Sin.”

“I don’t want to be on this plane, Lee. We can’t always get what we want.”

“You sound like your mom.”

“Some of her sayings are forever etched in my memory,” Sin laughed.

“Just try to ignore Jenn.”

“I don’t have an ignore button.”

“Find one. Everyone else ignores her smart-ass mouth.”

“Which is why she hasn’t learned to shut it. If someone would’ve been popped her in it, she wouldn’t be like this.”

“Be that as it may…”

“We’ve reached my house. That means no more talking about Jenn, the succu-bitch.”

“Succu-bitch? Girl, you silly. Give me a hug. Merry Christmas Eve. Nachik is going to come by early in the morning to get our food. Is that alright?”

“That’s fine.” Sin hugged her friend. “Merry Christmas Eve. I may not have my family here. But, I’m glad I’ve got you here. You’re family too.”

“Ditto, chick. I plan to sleep in tomorrow. And after I wake up, I’ll be stuck inside all day tomorrow with my mate. So, Merry Christmas. I’ll see you before the next full moon.”

“Why before the next full moon?”

The door to her house opened before Lee could reply. After winking at Sin, Lee waved to Kaede then left. Before the next full moon? Why did Lee specify that date? What was her friend up to?

“Are you going to stand outside all night in the cold?” Kaede’s deep voice filled the silence. “Or are you going to come inside and let me warm you up?”

And just like that, all thoughts of Lee and full moons flew out the window.

Sin turned around and faced her mate. “You know I choose you, dragon. I’ll always choose you.” She blew her mate a kiss then asked, “Did you have that on earlier?”

“I was sweaty so I showered and changed clothes. It’s time for you to come inside.”

Kaede stepped outside, scooped her up, and carried her into her home. So caught up in each other, neither of them saw Jenn watching them from the shadows.
