‘No. I’m going to try the gym downstairs.’
It’d been a week since I’d officially become a Sated employee. And when I had celebratory drinks with Dana and Joe, they told me that in addition to the discounts on Sated products, access to the library and the incredible rooftop bar, I’d now get to use the company’s state-of-the-art gym. For free.
I enjoyed working out, but gym memberships in London were astronomical. So that perk would save me a fortune.
Dana said it was particularly busy at lunchtime and after work until around seven, so I’d deliberately stayed later so that I could go when it was quieter.
Calista and the PR team were busy, so whilst I waited for the green light for work to begin on the app, I was happy to help out.
I still couldn’t believe I had a permanent job in London! Even my parents were surprised. Thankfully, when I told them I’d be working on a new app, they didn’t probe. Just the mention of the word ‘app’ or anything related to technology was enough to short-circuit their brains, so my secret was safe.
‘Burn some calories for me,’ Calista joked.
‘Will do!’
I already planned to go hard at it tonight because I’d been eating way too many of the free pastries Sated provided.
It wasn’t just the calories I was hoping to burn tonight though. I also hoped to run off some of my growing sexual frustration.
The novelty of using the toys was wearing off. Probably because I’d used them too much.
In the beginning, if I listened to steamy audiobooks, once the toys had helped me orgasm, I was satisfied. But now I’d become desensitised.
Using battery operated equipment wasn’t enough.
Just like Joe had joked before, now I craved the real thing.
I didn’t just want to feel a piece of cold plastic between my legs any more.
I wanted a real dick.
Maybe it was time for me to download Sated’s dating app after all and find a willing participant.
I got in the lift and travelled down to the fitness floor.
My kit was in my bag. I’d go to the changing room in a minute. First, I wanted to check the gym wasn’t still busy and to see if the treadmill was free. If there was a queue, I couldn’t be bothered to wait around.
When I stepped inside, a heavy dance bassline blasted through the speakers. I’d expected to be hit with the stench of stale sweat, but the air was surprisingly fresh. And there was aircon.
I scanned the large room which had floor-to-ceiling mirrors, an assortment of weights, rowing machines, bikes and other equipment.
Thankfully, it wasn’t too busy. A man was pumping weights at one end and a woman was doing stretches on a yoga mat.
I couldn’t see the treadmill, but even over the music I could hear what sounded like an elephant running, so I knew it had to be in the other section of the gym.
I turned the corner, then gasped.
I’d found the treadmill.
But it wasn’t the speed that the person on it was running that shocked me.
It was who that person was.
Mr Devlin.
Seeing my boss in his expensive tailored suits was one thing.
But seeing him in a sleeveless vest top and shorts was a sight to behold.
