‘I’m always perky!’ I insisted.

‘It’s eight-thirty on a grey Monday morning. It’s not normal to be this upbeat. Wait.’ She gripped my arm, her eyes wide. ‘Did you hookup? That’s it! You had sex, didn’t you? Some hot guy fucked you this morning. That’s why you’re so happy!’

‘No!’ I said. ‘I didn’t hookup. I…’ I scanned our surroundings to see if anyone I recognised from the office was nearby. ‘I… I used the… toys,’ I whispered. ‘And read some of Sated’s books.’

‘Yes, girl!’ Dana held up her palm to high five me and I slapped my hand on hers. ‘And?’

‘And…’ My gaze dropped to the pavement, suddenly self-conscious about discussing something so intimate with Dana. But I’d been bursting to tell someone about it all weekend and I knew she’d understand. ‘It was incredible!’

‘I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so!’ She laughed. ‘What did you try?’

‘The Lip-Stick,’ I said.

The truth was I didn’t just use the Lip-Stick. I tried everything.

The Lip-Stick, the Tempting Tentacle Dildo and the Throb-Cob.

Multiple times.

I was worried that I’d developed some kind of addiction.

All I did for the whole weekend was read Sated books and play with the toys.

Sometimes together.

Other times just the toys.

I remembered on Saturday that my housemates had gone to a festival, so I was home alone, which meant that thankfully, no one could hear how loudly I screamed every time I orgasmed.

Reading those saucy novels made my imagination run rampant.

It wasn’t just the books. The bloody reel of Mr Devlin in the shower wouldn’t stop playing on repeat in my head.

My boss had given me a lot of inspiration.

Each time I fantasised about us having sex in different places.

In the shower, on his desk…

I didn’t know what the hell had come over me. (Mr Devlin had done that many times in my fantasies, in case you were wondering.)

Maybe Dad’s conspiracy theory about London corrupting innocent minds was true.

Whatever it was, I wasn’t complaining. I hadn’t had so much fun since… since forever.

And on top of that, I was absolutely brimming with ideas for the presentation.

Dana, Joe and Mr Devlin were right.

Familiarising myself with the company’s products and books was just what I needed to inspire me.

I couldn’t wait to get to my desk and write down all of my ideas.

‘The Lip-Stick is great,’ Dana shrugged, ‘but there are so many others you need to try. Baby steps though. And what did you think about the books?’

‘They were certainly very eye-opening,’ I said as we stepped through the office’s revolving glass doors.

‘That’s one way of putting it!’ She chuckled. ‘And how’s the presentation prep going?’
