After giving Dana and Joe massive hugs, I raced out of the conference hall then took the lift to Blake’s floor.

When the doors sprung open, Blake was already standing there, waiting.

I flung my arms around him, then pressed my lips onto his.

‘You were amazing!’ I said, before kissing him again.

Someone cleared their throat and when I reluctantly pulled away, I realised that the three Devlin brothers were standing there. And Valerie.

Oops.

‘Sorry.’ I winced.

‘It’s fine.’ Seb flashed a warm smile.

‘No one should have to watch their fossil of a brother snogging like a horny teenager.’ Oscar pretended to gag, then grinned.

‘I’m not old.’ Blake gave him a humorous eye roll.

‘Debatable,’ Oscar shot back.

‘We’re happy for you, but maybe keep the PDA away from the office.’ Heath flashed a small smile. ‘Welcome to the family, Eleanor.’

Heath, Seb and Oscar came over and gave me hugs.

‘Thank you.’ I grinned, my heart swelling. ‘It’ll be nice to have brothers. And don’t worry, I’ll keep him in check.’

‘I’m sure you will,’ Seb said.

‘Any news from the board?’ I asked.

‘We’ll be meeting at four to decide Blake’s fate, but I’m confident that after that speech, they’ll be more favourable,’ Heath said. ‘A press release is being distributed far and wide right now and if the subscriptions sell well, that will also help.’

‘Not if the subscriptions sell well. When.’ Blake wrapped his arm around my waist.

‘Yes, when,’ Heath agreed.

‘We’ll leave you two to it.’ Seb ushered Oscar and Heath to follow him down the corridor.

‘See you later.’ I waved. As Blake and I approached his office, I smiled at Valerie. ‘Sorry.’

‘Don’t worry, dear.’ Valerie winked. ‘I already knew you two were courting and I’m happy for you both.’

I was just about to ask her how she knew, when her phone rang.

‘Yes,’ Valerie said. ‘I see. Please hold. Eleanor dear, that was reception. Your parents are downstairs. And they’re demanding to see you.’

‘Here?’ My stomach bottomed out. ‘My parents? In London? Downstairs in reception?’

I’d heard what Valerie had said, but I didn’t believe it.

My parents hated cities.

They were convinced that London was the destination just before hell. Full of corruption, crime and unsavoury people committing all kinds of sins. So there was no way they could be here.
