‘In two weeks. The characters names don’t appear too often so he just needs to record a handful of sentences for each premium member, then the editors can produce the personalised versions,’ I explained.
‘Sounds good.’ Heath nodded. ‘And I’m glad you decided to limit the number of subscribers. It would’ve been too labour intensive and expensive to do much more than that.’
‘Exactly. Any other questions?’ I glanced at my watch. It was already after six and I was itching to see Ellie.
I’d had back-to-back meetings all day, so I hadn’t seen Ellie since I’d kissed her goodbye before heading to the office at six this morning and that felt like an eternity.
As I thought about how amazing these past few months had been, warmth flooded my chest.
Ever since we’d got back from our first trip to Marbella and I asked Ellie to come home with me, she’d stayed at our place every night.
The feeling of waking up beside her every morning and coming home after a long day at the office and holding her in my arms was incredible.
I didn’t know it was possible to be this happy.
Our weekends were either spent at home, or more often than not, because I liked to be out with her in public and kiss her whenever and wherever the urge took me, we travelled to my cottage in the countryside or took the jet to Marbella, which was where we’d be going tonight.
With the app’s launch fast approaching and the announcement event on Tuesday, work was about to become even busier, so we needed to recharge our batteries now in preparation.
Which is why I wanted to hurry up and wrap up this damn meeting so our romantic weekend together could start.
‘No more questions right now,’ Heath confirmed. ‘We have the meeting with a potential new lingerie manufacturer in New York on Monday.’
‘Yes, I know,’ I said, getting impatient. ‘As well as looking at other manufacturers, we need to think about how to shake things up for the lingerie division. I don’t like the influx of reviews I’ve seen questioning the quality of the underwear. Our products should be perceived as high-end. We should give more thought to partnering with an established luxury lingerie brand. Or even acquiring one.’
‘That would depend on the investment required,’ Heath said.
‘Of course,’ I agreed. ‘Oscar, remind me again why we haven’t met with the French lingerie brand I suggested before, Maison Amourielle? They have a fantastic reputation and I hear that Madeleine Dubois, the creative force behind the brand is doing great—’
‘No,’ Oscar snapped before I’d even finished my sentence. ‘We’re not working with her.’
‘Why?’ I frowned.
‘She’s not… The company isn’t… It’s not a good idea,’ he stuttered. ‘It just wouldn’t be good for Sated. Trust me. Fancy going for a drink?’ Oscar said.
‘Can’t.’ I stood up quickly. It was weird that Oscar was so against Maison Amourielle. It didn’t escape my attention that he’d deliberately changed the subject either, but I didn’t have time to worry about that now. I needed to see Ellie.
‘Seeing your mystery lady again?’ Seb cocked a brow and my chest tightened.
My brothers still didn’t know about Ellie. Which was why they were still talking to me. The only person who knew was Geoff.
I needed to tell them.
And I would.
Soon.
But now wasn’t a good time. Once SatisFya had been launched and everything was running smoothly, it’d be better.
‘So because I can’t come for a drink, I automatically must be seeing a woman?’ I deflected.
‘No,’ Seb said. ‘Because you’ve been in a permanent good mood for months, which whilst great, is out of character. You’ve been extra secretive. And because you’re never free to meet up any more.’
‘He blanks you too?’ Oscar asked.
‘Yep,’ Seb confirmed.
‘Same here,’ Heath added. ‘The other day I suggested coming back to his place to watch the footy and judging by the look of horror that flashed across his face, you’d think I’d asked him to eat a bowl of shit.’
