‘This is excellent.’ He smiled.

‘Have you seen any of the films on there?’

‘All of them.’

‘But they’re mostly romcoms!’

‘And?’ Blake cocked his head playfully. ‘In case it’s escaped your attention, Sated publishes romance novels. We have a dating app which encourages couples to get their happy ending. Our products strengthen romantic relationships. And here I was thinking that you knew our company’s operations inside out.’

He shook his head like a disappointed parent before his lips curved up into another smile causing my belly to flip-flop.

I loved when Blake smiled.

‘My mistake.’ I laughed. ‘Obviously I know now what the company does.’

‘Unlike when you first arrived.’ Blake chuckled.

‘Stop!’ I poked his bicep and my finger was met with a wall of muscle. ‘That wasn’t my fault!’ I winced as the cringeworthy memories of our first meeting flooded my brain. ‘Like I was saying, I know what Sated sells, I just didn’t have you down as a man who enjoyed watching romcoms in his spare time, that’s all.’

‘There’s a lot you don’t know about me.’ His gaze fixed on mine.

‘If only I could find out more.’

Our eyes locked and electricity crackled in the air.

Blake leant forward, took my head in his hands then pressed his mouth on mine.

My lips parted and he slid his tongue inside.

I moaned as I melted against him.

God, he was such a good kisser.

His hand trailed up my thighs and he reached for the zip of my jeans.

Just as he started to unzip it, the car intercom sounded.

‘We’re here, sir,’ Geoff announced and I pulled away like we’d been caught.

I didn’t know why. The privacy screen was up and Geoff wasn’t stupid. He knew I hadn’t been playing tiddlywinks in Blake’s penthouse last night.

‘Thank you,’ Blake said. Once I’d zipped up my jeans, Blake lowered the screen.

I’d been so focused on chatting (and other things) that I hadn’t even glanced out the window to take in the surroundings.

So when Geoff opened my door, I stepped outside and saw where we were, my jaw immediately crashed to the ground.

Oh. My. God.

‘You’ve brought me to the Natural History Museum?’ I gasped, blinking repeatedly as I tried to process what was happening.

Despite my question, I knew exactly where we were.

I’d memorised this building what felt like a million times, but I was just in shock.
