I wasn’t expecting that.

‘I haven’t got any clean clothes. Or a toothbrush. Or a silk headscarf. I need it to wrap my hair. So my curls don’t go frizzy,’ I explained.

‘I’ll organise some clean clothes. I have silk pillowcases which are good for minimising frizz. I’ll get a silk headscarf delivered, but it might take a few hours, so in the meantime, I’ll cut up a large silk pillowcase and make it into a scarf for your hair.’

‘I can’t ask you to do that!’ I gasped.

‘You didn’t ask. I offered.’

Wow. That was so incredibly sweet.

‘And I have a spare toothbrush,’ Blake added.

Of course he did.

He probably had a whole cabinet full for all the women he brought here.

My stomach dropped and I chastised myself for being jealous. Especially as he’d been so kind to me tonight.

Blake was a good-looking, powerful man. And he was single, so he was entitled to bring whoever he wanted back to his place.

This was just sex.

A temporary arrangement.

And the sooner I got that into my head, the better.

‘Okay,’ I said, thinking it would be easier and let’s face it, a lot nicer to spend the night here. ‘If you’re sure, then I’d love to stay.’

BLAKE

Ellie had just asked if I was sure that I was fine with her staying.

The truth was, I wanted her to, but it was a terrible mistake.

I hadn’t had a woman here since I split up with my ex over a year ago.

Since then, I’d only slept with a handful of women. We always did it at their place and once the deed was done, I’d leave. No sleepovers, cuddles or breakfast.

It was a means to an end.

Although I’d invited Ellie here tonight, it was purely for practical reasons. She shared a house. We couldn’t afford to be seen by anyone so going there or to a hotel was out of the question. My place was the only logical solution.

The plan was simple.

Fuck Ellie. Then once she’d enjoyed a few orgasms, send her home.

I had no intention of having dinner with her.

Or having personal conversations about our very different upbringings.

And her sleeping over definitely wasn’t part of the deal.

It was important that she didn’t get the wrong idea.

Yet for some reason, I didn’t want her to leave.
