“I will, thanks.”

Zane cleared his throat again. “If you don’t mind, I’m ready to order. I’ll have a farmer’s omelet with hashbrowns and wheat toast. Oh, and coffee.”

“And for the lady?” Jason said gallantly.

“I’ll have the pancakes and a side of sausage.”

“Links or patties?”

“Links.”

“Coffee?” Jason asked.

“Yes, please.”

“Be right back.”

Zane’s ire rose as she watched Jason walk away. “He’s too young for you,” he snapped.

She narrowed her eyes at him. “How old is he?”

“Barely out of college.”

“That’s legal.”

He decided to call her bluff. “If you’re really interested, I can put in a good word for you.”

She eyed him until he squirmed. “Would you really do that?”

“If that’s what you want.” Pleasedon’t say yes.

“Sasha doesn’t look much older than him.”

“She’s not.”

“Is that why you didn’t have sex with her?”

“I’m not interested in Sasha,” he said, holding her gaze.

“Maybe you can fix up Jason and Sasha instead.”

His shoulders sagged with relief, and he smiled widely.

When Jason returned with their coffee, she politely thanked him, but that was all. He seemed disappointed, but Zane didn’t feel sorry for him. The guy was young and good looking, and he’d have no trouble finding someone else to take parasailing.

“Do you really have an interest in parasailing, or were you just making conversation?”

“I wouldn’t go parasailing if you paid me.”

He chuckled. “You should try it sometime. It’s invigorating.”

“I’ll have to take your word for it.”

“If you change your mind, I hope you’ll let me take you up.”

She nodded, providing further reassurance that she wasn’t really interested in young Jason.

Soon their food arrived, and Jason set it down with a flourish. “Can I get you anything else?” he said, looking directly at Bree.
