“Now that we know how good we are together, how can we be satisfied with just one time?”

“That is a conundrum,” she teased. She scooted closer and whispered, “I don’t remember agreeing to just one time.”

Then he covered her lips with his and lost himself once again.

Chapter 21

Two hours later, they were driving back to Scottsdale with matching grins and a major secret.

“Do you think your parents are suspicious?” Morgan asked.

“I doubt it, but even if they are, I don’t think they’d mind the idea of us being…”

“Lovers?”

“Has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?”

She nodded as a surge of warmth flowed through her at the thought. After they’d had sex a second time, they’d taken turns showering. He’d suggested they shower together to save time, but she’d been afraid his parents would come home and discover they were both in there.

They’d compromised—he’d stood watch while she’d showered first, and then they’d switched. They’d ended up watching each other more than looking out for his parents, but they’d still managed not to get caught. Once they were clean and dressed, they’d packed their bags and gone downstairs together.

Gabe had made them sandwiches, and they’d been sitting at the kitchen table eating when his parents walked in. Brenda and Cal had joined them for lunch, and after a long goodbye with plenty of hugs and kisses from his mom, Morgan and Gabe had left.

Now they were getting close to home, and she was wondering what came next.

“You know, Maria won’t be expecting you home until later.”

She glanced over and saw him smirking.

“What are you suggesting?”

“Come over to my place. We can hang out for a while, and then I’ll take you home later.”

“By ‘hang out,’ do you mean have sex again?”

He whipped his head in her direction and feigned surprise. “If you insist.”

She laughed. “Tell me you weren’t just thinking that.”

“I was, but I was trying to be subtle about it.”

“There’s no need for subtlety, but yes, I’ll ‘hang out’ with you.”

“I learned a lot about you this weekend.”

“Such as?”

“Well, for one, you’re not afraid to go after what you want.”

“I haven’t always been like that.”

“I know. You seemed shy as a teenager, almost timid at times.”

“I wasn’t as confident back then.”

“Confidence looks good on you.”

“Thank you.”
