“What’s even crazier is that you didn’t correct her.”
“Does that bother you to be thought of as Mrs. Bradshaw?”
He watched a myriad of emotions cross her gorgeous face and waited breathlessly for her answer.
“Well, no, but she shouldn’t have assumed that!”
“You’re right, but there are worse things to be called.”
She nodded, and then the elevator doors opened on the eighth floor, the same one they’d stayed on the last time. When he started walking down the hall toward their room, she made the connection.
“You booked the same room, didn’t you?”
“I did.”
“Look at you, turning into Mr. Romantic,” she teased.
They reached the door to the room, and he was about to slide the key through when she rubbed up against his back, causing him to miss the reader completely.
“You did that on purpose,” he accused, though he never minded her rubbing up on him.
“It’s the same thing you did to me, remember?”
“I remember everything about that night.”
Then she stepped back so he could let them in, probably anxious to get out of her sweaty clothes. Once they were inside and he’d set down their bags, she surprised him by jumping into his arms and wrapping her arms and legs around him.
“Thank you for doing this,” she said before leaning in for a kiss.
“Mmm. You’re welcome.”
They kissed for a few more minutes, and then he reluctantly slid her down his body until her feet touched the floor.
“We should probably get dressed for dinner. We have a reservation in thirty minutes.”
She looked up at him with an unreadable expression and replied, “Sure. I’ll just take a quick shower.”
“I’ll change out here.”
“Or you could join me.”
“If I do, we might miss dinner.”
“Would that be so bad?”
He was torn because, while he’d love nothing better than to get naked with her, he’d planned everything out and the delay would throw them off schedule.
She must have sensed his indecision, because she quickly said, “Never mind. We’ll have plenty of time for that after dinner.”
Then she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and disappeared into the bathroom. It wasn’t until after he’d changed and was waiting for her that he realized she hadn’t unpacked any of the clothes he’d brought, which meant…
The bathroom door squeaked open, and out she came, her damp hair trailing down her back, her body gloriously naked.
“You forgot your clothes,” he said unnecessarily.
“I know.”
She stalked toward where he sat on the edge of the bed. “You did it on purpose, didn’t you?”
