“I can’t wait until we get to sleep in the same bedroom,” he said, his voice thick with desire.
“Me too.”
Soon, they’d removed all their clothes, and he was buried deep inside her. She’d gone on the pill recently, and it probably hadn’t taken effect yet, but regardless, she was at the point in her cycle where she felt safe.
He’d rolled her on her back, his thrusts becoming more demanding, but then he paused. “I don’t have…”
“It’s okay. I just got over my period. We’re safe.”
He smiled like she’d just given him the best present ever. “You sure?”
“Positive. Keep going.”
So he did, taking her to the height of pleasure and gently bringing her back down again.
Afterward, when they’d redressed and he was holding her, she realized she’d chase the sun to be with this man. She smiled against his chest, thinking that was kind of what she’d done. She’d come to the Sunshine State with no intention of falling in love, but that’s exactly what had happened.
They say that’s when the best things happen, right? When you least expect them.
Epilogue
One Year Later
Bryce leaned against the back wall of the dance studio and watched Chloe lead her intermediate ballet students through a combination of moves. He’d done this several times over the past year, and he never ceased to be amazed—not just by the students’ talent, but by Chloe’s grace and poise as she taught them.
Since she’d opened the studio, attendance had continued to rise, and she was starting to make a name for herself in the community. She taught a variety of classes to all ages, including a class for seniors.
Molly continued to progress in ballet and was showing an interest in tap-dancing. Soon Chloe would have to hire additional instructors to help her manage it all. In the meantime, she seemed perfectly content and in her element.
If he were being honest, he didn’t just watch because he appreciated the beauty of dance. He also liked seeing Chloe in her workout gear. She wore exercise clothes that hugged her beautiful body and showed off every line and curve he now had intimate knowledge of.
Tonight she wore her hair up in a swingy ponytail that made her look youthful and sexy at the same time. He couldn’t wait until later when he’d be able to nibble on that long, graceful neck…
“Great job, everybody. See you next week,” she said, marking the end of class.
Bryce waited until all the girls had filed out and one boy too, and then he went up to the front of the room.
“Hello, my beautiful ballerina,” he said and placed a quick kiss on her cheek.
“Hey, handsome. Are you ready to take me to dinner?”
“Among other things.”
She smiled wide. “Just give me a few minutes to close up, and then we can go.”
When they pulled out of the parking lot a short time later, he turned right instead of left toward home.
“Where are you taking me?”
“To dinner.”
“But I have to go home and change first. I’m all sweaty.”
“Don’t worry. I’ve got it covered.”
She eyed him curiously. “What’s going on, Bryce?”
“You’ll find out soon enough.”
