“Oh, you have, baby girl. But I’ll always protect you.” I pump my hips. “Always.” I’ve needed her for so long, and her whimpers and groans with every thrust have me euphoric.

“Fuck, baby. Keep making those noises.” I love them all, every whimper, every moan. She’s so fucking perfect. She gives me exactly what I’m looking for. Moans tear from her throat. My fingers feather down her stomach, fingering her center.

“Yes!” She tenses around me, my cock in her death grip.

I don’t relent. When she feels safe and protected, she doesn’t need a break, nor does she want one. She likes to be controlled. She wants to be manhandled. Used. So different from our first time, when she needed complete control.

“Is this what you’ve wanted? Me, deep inside you, spreading you open wide around me.”

“Yes! Don’t stop,” she whimpers into another orgasm.

“You feel so good coming all over my cock. You’re dripping down me, baby, soaking every inch in you.” I kiss her neck with open kisses as my own climax grows heavy in my spine. She groans, and my name falling from her lips pushes me over the edge. “Baby girl, my name coming out of that pretty mouth sounds so fucking good.”

After quickly cleaning ourselves up and dressing, Indy grabs my hand, walking me to the edge of the water. “I’ve lived here my whole life and have never once visited this lake,” she whispers, sitting in front of the water.

Sitting beside her, I pull her into my lap. She snuggles into my chest with a contented sigh.

“This is beautiful, Cam. Thank you,” she says, staring at the sunset. It looks like fire is licking the sky.

I kiss her cheek. “I love you, Indy. You saved me, you know that?”

I don’t know what makes me tell her this, but it’s time someone knows. I’ve spent long enough with these thoughts. It’s funny how much happier I am now, how standing up to my parents changed so much for me.

“What?” she softly gasps. “That can’t be true.”

“It’s very true. If that car hadn’t broken down that night, I have no idea where I would be right now. But…I can only imagine where, and it isn’t anywhere good.” I take a deep breath, telling her a truth I haven’t told anyone. “I was in a very dark place before I met you. I hated everything and everyone around me. I was living on autopilot. It was like you took some of my darkness the moment I saw you. You lit me up in a way I had never felt, a way that saved me. The girl with the black lipstick.”

She chuckles. “I was wearing my black lipstick that night, wasn’t I?”

I nod. “I was, too.” She cocks her brow in question. “It was on my dick. I hated having to wash it off.” She snorts a laugh. “Really, it’s true. You saved me from a life I hated and brought me so many new, better things, making this all worth something,” I say, waving my hand around in front of us. “I know it sounds ridiculous coming from someone who had the world given to him, but—”

“No, Cam,” she cuts me off. “It’s not ridiculous for you to have those feelings. You felt trapped. You felt like there was no way out.”

“If you had told me before we met that I would have a girl like you and a fucking boyfriend, I would have laughed in your face.”

“A girl like me?” she questions with a smirk.

“Mhmm. Perfect in every way.”

She rolls her eyes, changing the subject. She’s never been one to keep a conversation about herself going very long. “How are things with your dad?” She knows we haven’t spoken since the day they showed up in my office.

I shrug. “Nothing new to tell. I still have my job. That’s something, I guess.”

“Are you going to reach out?”

I scoff. I’ve thought about it, but he’s a jerk, and I would rather not associate with him when I can help it. “I’ve thought about it, but really, if he never speaks to me again, it’ll be too soon.” Her eyebrows shoot to the top of her head. “He’s not a good man.”

“You and your mom are okay though?”

I nod. I’ve gone to dinner a few times with her since the fallout with my father. She’s the reason I have my job, I’m sure. She hasn’t said it, but she runs everything. Yet somehow, it’s my father’s face on the business.

“Do you think she’ll get him to come around?”

“Maybe, but if not, I’m not worried about it.”

“I just don’t want to be the reason you lose touch with them.”

That is the most ridiculous thing she’s ever said. I wrap my arms around her, putting my face in the crook of her neck.
