Because as happy as Sol was about having her own space, I knew she’d gotten comfortable at his house.
She’d never admit it.
But I saw it.
I saw how Halo lit up when Rome walked into a room.
I saw how naturally he picked that baby up, like having her attached to his hip had become normal.
And I damn sure saw the way Sol looked at him when she thought nobody was paying attention.
She could downplay that shit all she wanted.
Something was happening.
Living in that big-ass house together had done something to all three of them.
They’d gotten attached.
Halo to Rome.
Rome to Halo.
And Sol?
She was probably the worst one because she was still pretending she wasn’t.
I smirked.
“What?”
Sol narrowed her eyes at me.
“Nothing.”
“That face ain’t nothing.”
I stood and stretched my back.
“I was just thinking about you, Halo and your little boyfriend.”
“He is not my boyfriend.”
There it was.
Quick as hell.
I laughed.
“Okay.”
“He’s not.”
“Sol, I said okay.”
“You said it funny.”
“Because you’re funny.”
