“I’ll get it for you.”
I shake my head, chuckling. “Not good enough.”
Asher throws himself off me and stalks across the room toward the piano. I roll onto my side and stand. I swipe the blood from my lip with my thumb and stare at the red stain before returning my attention to my twin.
I bite my tongue. I already have the bruises and busted lip from my father, which is the perfect excuse when Eden asks.
My phone’s notifications ping. After grabbing my cell from my pocket, I read the text from Derrick.
Derrick
The Walker brothers sent another message.

My eyes narrow as I stare at the photo.
Without looking up from my phone, I say, “When we get back to the dorms tomorrow, I have another mission for you.”
I catch him in my periphery as he fully turns to look at me, the weight of his stare pressing in.
“When you send a warning,” I say, “I want you to make it fucking hurt for them.”
The Walker brothers have gone too far, and it’s time I put an end to it.
CHAPTER 36
EDEN
DAY 6 OF THE BET
“You need to pick up your speed,” Shane says with a laugh. “I’ll beat you at this rate.”
Tossing a glare at him, I stomp on the fake gas pedal and whip the wheel to one side. Our on-screen cars race side-by-side. He flies past mine and speeds toward the end goal.
His whoop startles me, and I glance at him as he throws his hands in the air. His name flashes on our screens, right below winner in bold.
Sighing, I squeeze my eyes shut and drop back in my seat.
My head wasn’t in the game. It’s been everywhere else but here in the present time.
The ride back to campus was long and quiet. Unlike last time, Asher was awake and openly staring at me. Even while I was in the front passenger seat, I could feel the weight of his stare, almost as if he were judging me for sleeping with Elijah.
The twins have always been close. Just from observing them from afar, I gathered they had no secrets between them. So I know Asher knows about it, and he looked upset.
“What the hell happened, dude?”
I open my eyes at Shane’s question. “I must be more tired than I thought.”
“Ah, I meant to ask you about your weekend trip.” He rubs his nape and winces. “How did that go?”
It’s my turn to wince, and I don’t hide it.
“That’s a loaded question,” I mutter. “It went fine, mostly.”
Other than literally everything that happened from the tension, flirting, sex with Elijah, and watching Asher jerk off. Then, yeah, it went fine.
My head has been fuzzy since I’ve been back. Everything is too much. They’re too much.
