The position had her neck craning upwards to meet his eyes because she’d taken her heels off the moment they’d entered the greenhouse.

Her lack of a response sent instant panic flooding his body. He prayed she didn’t see how scared he was. He clenched his jaw and clenched his eyes shut. He had moved too fast. Damn it.

“Daniel,” Blair said aloud. No one said his name like she did. He was honored each time she spoke to him, knowing she wasn’t comfortable with how she sounded. She sounded fucking amazing, which he would tell her every day until they were gray if she’d let him.

Once she had his attention, she touched his cheek tenderly. “I think you’re brilliant. You know I love you, right?”

And Blair just made him the happiest man alive. She’d let go of him to sign that, so he shook his head and tapped her lips.

She didn’t pretend to misunderstand. “I love you, Daniel. If you’ll wait for me to come home, and if Dad doesn’t kill you before that happens, then I want this. This house. And you.”

“Christ, Blair. I love you so much.” There were logistics, statistics, plans, and surely curveballs headed their way. He had zero fucks to give.

Blair loved him. The end and the beginning.

The longer they stood staring at one another, playfulness thinned into something warmer. He saw it, felt it.

Walking her to the couch, he sat and pulled her with him until she straddled his lap. His hands found the sides of her face, thumbs resting just beneath her ears.

Blair reached for him first, fingers curling into the front of his shirt.

He kissed her carefully at first, savoring the softness of her mouth, the little sigh she breathed against him. But months of wanting her lived under his skin, and restraint wasn’t his to give.

The kiss deepened.

His hands slid into her hair, tangling gently in the heavy spirals as he tilted her face for a better angle. She answered him with surprising hunger, pulling him closer until they were both grinding against one another.

He broke the kiss. “Not again, baby. The next time we get each other off, you damn well better believe that it will be with our clothes off.”

Her wicked grin made him ache. He groaned softly when her fingers slipped beneath his jacket, then under his shirt, exploring the planes of his stomach thoroughly like he was one of her specimens.

He broke the kiss again and stood with her still clutched in his arms. “Naked. Now.”

Her lips were flushed, eyes bright, chest rising quickly beneath the delicate fabric of her dress.

They didn’t take their eyes from one another as they stripped bare. Daniel tossed his suit coat over one of the tables, divested his wrists of the gold-and-jewel wolf-head cufflinks he’d received for graduation, and added his tie, shoes, socks, and his button-up to the pile. He slowly undid the fly of his trousers, letting the material slide down his legs before kicking them free.

He was in his boxers, Blair in her tiny body suit, cut high and hugging her perfectly round ass. “Take it off, Blair. I want to see every inch of you.”

She hooked her thumbs under the spaghetti straps at her shoulders, pulling down the silky material so slowly, he felt mesmerized, waiting, waiting, waiting.

Movement halted, and she nodded toward him, repeating his words back to him. “Naked. Now.” He was far from shy. He worked hard on his physique, and women had repeatedly told him they loved his body.

Making a show of adjusting his dick, he pushed the last article of clothing down his legs. His heavy erection ached, free from the constriction. He kept his arms hanging loosely at his sides, letting her see the proof of how badly he wanted her.

He raised his brows, daring her to do the same, and because Blair never backed down—from anything or anyone—she stood naked within seconds.

His eyes raked over her body in a quick once-over before taking a more leisurely inspection. Her body was lean and muscular, the result of hours of manual labor with plants. Her breasts were small but high and firm with tiny pink nipples, muscles flexed under her flat stomach with every breath, and finally, he let his eyes linger on the apex of her thighs and the perfectly groomed fiery red landing strip.

He’d felt the small bit of hair that night in the garden and remembered how furious he was that it had been too dark to see. He could see it fine now, and his mouth salivated thinking of his tongue tracing the patch.

He finally moved, joining her next to the overlarge couch, which he was eternally grateful for since a bed would have been a step too far to ask of his mom and aunts to provide. He kissed the corner of her mouth, then her jaw, then the sensitive line of her throat, and couldn’t help the compulsion to touch her everywhere at once.

Blair shivered and arched toward him, her small hands sliding from his shoulders, down his chest, the ridges of his stomach, until her hands wrapped solidly around his length.

Allowing her only a moment more exploration, Daniel unwrapped her hands, groaning when she took one last long pull.

Tapping her chin to get her attention, he told her, “You will not get me off so easily again. Now get your ass on that couch.”
