Oscar raised his hand, beaming with pride. “That would be moi.”

As if Kira and I were in each other’s heads, we glanced at each other. “What was that?” Sara questioned.

“Huh?” I replied.

“Why did you two look at each other like that when Oscar said he did Cara’s hair?” Sara clarified.

Kira nodded, and I sat forward. “Okay, so I don’t know if you all are aware, but Kira does nails, and I’m a makeup artist. I also do lash extensions and brows. We’ve been wanting to open our own shop together. The only thing we’ve been missing is a hair stylist that matches our skills.”

Oscar seemed intrigued. “Tell me more.”

By the time I finished giving them a rundown of Kira and my business plan, everyone was smiling in approval. “That would for sure be a moneymaker. A one-stop shop beauty salon. We don’t have anything like that in town,” Alice said.

Oscar agreed. “It would be. But you know the club is investing in my salon as a silent partner. If we do this, I have to get their approval.”

“Oh no, Oscar. If you already have something lined up, I don’t want to intervene,” I told him.

He waved me off. “You’re not. You gave me a business proposal, which I accept—with or without the club. This idea is genius, and I will not pass it up.”

Cara smirked and shook her head. “Trust me, neither are the guys. If it’s making them legit money, they will be all for it.”

Oscar faced me and Kira. “If you’re really set to do this, then let's exchange numbers. We can meet somewhere this week and come up with a solid business plan to present to the guys.”

I was a little hesitant. I didn’t want to agree to do something with Christian’s club without running it by him first. “Is it okay if I talk to Torch about it first? This is his club, and I don’t want to step on his toes.”

“Of course. After you talk with him, call me.”

Once that was settled, we enjoyed the rest of the night. We laughed and talked like we had known them our entire lives. After our food made it to the table, it wasn’t much talking going on. While we were eating, I heard someone call my name. I looked up and saw my sister Morgan and her trashy crew standing at the end of the table. A few of the women rolled their eyes, and I couldn’t blame them. With the impression they gave off in Vegas, I wouldn’t want to be around them either.

“Well, it’s nice to know you’re alive. You haven’t responded to any of my texts, yet you’re out with a group of women you don’t even know,” Morgan said in a scolding tone.

I bit my lip, trying to suppress snapping at her. I hadn’t responded to any of her texts because nothing she said required a response from me. All she did was tell me how dumb I was for leaving Julian. How I was ruining everyone’s life by being selfish. And how Julian would eventually move on and give another woman everything he wanted to give me.

Honestly, I was about to block her. It was one thing for her not to support my decision to leave Julian, but constantly criticizing me for it was where I drew the line. She didn’t have to like it, but she was going to have to get over it.

“Well, I really had nothing to say to your text.”

Morgan’s head jerked back. “Oh, really? So, you’re just go—”

“Morgan, I’m not doing this with you. I’m here to have a good time. I am not about to argue with you about a relationship that you have nothing to do with!” I hissed.

She glared at me. “That’s what you think,” she muttered.

“What did you say?”

Before she could answer, Tammy cleared her throat, staring at Cara. “Where’s our fine piece of man at?” she asked Cara with a smug grin.

Everyone sitting at the table grew tense immediately. I noticed everyone watching her, either scared or concerned. Well, everyone except Oscar. He chuckled and took a sip of his drink.

Bianca leaned toward Cara. “Now, Cara, don’t do anything crazy.”

That was the second time I heard that today.

Cara never looked up from her plate. She continued to cut into her steak, eating like she had no worries. For some reason, that ruffled the ladies even more.

“Cara, please,” Madison whined. “When you dragged Jayda with your truck, the guys wouldn’t let us have any unsupervised outings for two months.”

My eyes bucked, and I turned to Kira. She looked just as baffled as I was. Did she just say Cara dragged a girl with her truck?
