That thought solidifies the moment she moans my name.

My face is buried in the pillow and I scream, trying to muffle the sound. I’m doing a pretty good job at it too, because no one seems to hear. I’m trembling uncontrollably, my entire body temperature has to be well over a hundred degrees. It’s cold outside, yet all I want to do is rip my clothes off.
I lift my head from the pillow ever so slightly, barely seeing the dorm in front of me from the haziness in my eyes. The pillow is on the other side of the bed, where my feet would usually be, and I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror.
Dear Lord, I look like a mess.
My hair’s tangled from all the rolling around in the bed, and the makeup is smeared. I half-cried, half-laughed after I returned to the dorm, and I’m super grateful that Sophia isn’t here to witness my state, she’d have a field day.
All the accessories she lent me are now returned, neatly placed on her desk for her to put back in their rightful spot. I don’t think I’ll be needing anything like that anymore, ever again. Because I’m blaming her, the perfume, and the rest of the things I took from her for how the events turned out to be.
I ran out of his office like a scared kitten.
More than anything, I’m embarrassed beyond words. I moaned into the kiss — moaned! Like I’m some horny teenage girl that’s never been kissed before! The shame washes over me again, and it’s unbearable. My heart tightens, and I swear, it almost leaps straight out of my chest.
Is this the first sign of a heart attack?
“Avalon!”
The door swings open, and Grace comes in, she looks ready to kill someone. I flinch, sitting up, staring at her. Momentarily, the thoughts of the kiss vanish from my mind and I focus on Grace.
“Yes?” I frown. “What is it?”
She pauses, her anger subsiding for a second. Her eyes scan all over me, as she tilts her head to the side, then closes the door, with a loud slam, before strolling closer to me. She squints, as if she’s looking for something.
“What the hell happened to you? You look like you just got laid — oh my God! Did you?!”
“No!” I squeal. “I was just… napping. Why did you barge in here, anyway?”
“Uhuh,” she raises an amused brow, a teasing smirk on her lips. “I won’t press. But, just so you know, we’re in deep trouble.”
I freeze. “What kind of trouble?”
“Sophia knows!” She whisper-yells. “That I borrowed her pass for Saint Valley.”
“Stole,” I correct. “Did she reprimand you?”
“How does she even know?!” As always, Grace ignores the fact that she did, in fact, steal it from Sophia. “I returned it before she could ever notice!”
“It’s Sophia we’re talking about,” I roll my eyes. For my own sake, not wanting to face Grace’s wrath, I decide it would probably be for the best not to mention I spilled the beans to Sophia under literally no pressure whatsoever. She merely asked, and I answered. “Did she say anything?”
“She banned me from her dorm!”
“You mean, the very dorm you’re in right now?” I suppress a chuckle.
Grace can be such a drama queen, and I love her for it. No one else does it like her, because in reality, not only does she not care that Sophia found out, but she’s also not scared of her in the slightest. If a fight broke out between the two, Grace would wipe the floor with Sophia’s Barbie face.
“I like pissing her off,” Grace shrugs, then walks over to the jewelry box that’s resting neatly on Sophia’s desk. She opens it, then starts rummaging through it. I wince, knowing that this is a war waiting to happen.
“You really shouldn’t take those,” I glance at the pair of earrings Grace is holding up, examining them closely. “It was a gift from her dad.”
“She’s always been a daddy’s girl,” she murmurs.
“I don’t think that’s a bad thing.”
Grace sighs, then puts the earrings back into their place. “It’s not. I’m just jealous. My dad favors my older sister, because she was the firstborn, then he loves my brother because it’s his only son. Then there’s me, the eternal family disappointment.”
