The panels along the roof opened, and I caught the barest glimpse of Palmer and Hestos jumping away from the edge. The DJ booth lifted skyward, a mechanical arm moving him over the writhing crowd and into the air.

Novak hooted in excitement as he leaned over the side to shout at the hosting couple. “This is so fucking cool!”

Ebony disappeared from Sunshine’s arms, popping up on the ledge around the booth to snatch the microphone from my vampire.

“Are we ready?” she purred along with the music.

The crowd was deafening in their cheer, and she bounced her hand to quiet them.

“Let’s show our visitors from Earth how monsters play.”

The roar from the dance floor vibrated the mezzanine, tickling the soles of my feet. Ebony passed Novak the microphone, and he shrugged at her as she pressed another button and slid a lever up…

That was when the bass really kicked in.

My vampire grinned as he pulled the headphones over his ears, stepping into his persona of DJ Gluttony. And gods, how I loved watching him hyper-focus on his work, the way his forearms flexed as he used his fingers…

I dragged York and Grim down to the first floor, losing the reaper in a sea of creatures.

And time stood still as my druid gripped my hips, his chest pressed against my back, while I lost myself to the beat.

Hours passed in the blink of an eye. But that was how our time in the shadow realm always went.

Good fun with great friends would do that to you.

“We have to bring Hyde when we come back,” I told Jack.

He didn’t respond, other than lifting his brow as he stared at our VIP section on the second floor.

“What—” I stopped, my foot still poised to take the last step up. “What the fuck is he doing?”

“He’s your mate,” my brother mumbled, laughter in his voice. “I know what it looks like, but you tell me.”

He was a very drunk Briggs.

And he was pointing at the outline of his dick in his jeans. He shrugged at Stone before turning his index finger to point in Umber’s direction. My demon bit at his fist, holding his amusement at bay as he nodded along. But the berserker only chuckled as he sipped his beer, his cheeks holding a pink tint.

“How do you even prep for that?” Jack asked, then quickly shook his head. “Don’t answer. I already know you’d need a large—”

“Starfish?” York cut in, making me roll my eyes. “She told him that the Hewyville slugger in his pants wasn’t going near her starfish, so the answer is she doesn’t prepare for it because she doesn’t take it.”

“Have you been drinking too?” I inquired.

“Hewyville?” Jack scrunched his nose. “You mean Louisville?”

My druid waved his hand dismissively. “Same thing.”

“Not even remotely close to the same thing,” the hellsteed retorted.

“Why are we talking about this?” Baylor complained from behind me. “That’s my fucking brother. I don’t want to know any of the things that happen between the two or seven of you. Or whatever combinations you guys get twisted into.”

“Oh my gods,” I whispered under my breath. “I cannot talk about this with you three while you’ve been drinking.”

“Why not me?” York pointed to himself. “Starfish are kind of my thing.”

Jack snorted. “All of them? It doesn’t surprise me that you like sea—Wait.”
