“Going back to our movie.”

I stare at him, unimpressed. “Put it in the microwave. I don’t want to wait.”

“You’re so demanding,” he grumbles, doing as I asked.

“Only sometimes,” I tease as our phones ping with notifications.

“That the guys?”

I pass him his phone as I glare at my screen. “They’ve got to be joking. Is your notification from my security, too?”

“Yeah.”

“Does everyone have access to my cameras?”

“For the time being?” He nods. “Yes.”

I narrow my eyes. “So you saw me sliding across the tile in my socks yesterday?”

“No,” he lies, fighting a grin. “Forrest told me you were entertaining yourself in some choice clothing. I told him to stop being a perv.”

“I was naked,” I admit. “He was being polite.”

Walker chuckles. “Who’s in your house, Blondie?”

“I don’t know. I can’t see their faces clearly,” I answer, zooming in and out of the camera angles.

“I’ll grab my laptop and see if we get a better image.”

“And I’ll call Drew. If he’s close, he’ll want to fight. Maybe he can blow some steam off.”

I go to my favorites and tap the honey badger’s name, but the line goes straight to his voicemail.

“His phone is off,” I tell Walker. “I’ll try Ali.”

But I get the same response when I call him.

“Why are both their phones off?” I ask. “That’s weird.”

“They were going somewhere to make a deal,” he informs me. “Maybe they haven’t finished?”

I nod, though I don’t like the way my stomach roils with unease. “Have you heard from Forrest and Collin?”

“Yeah. Collin texted about forty-five minutes ago and said they would finish up in two hours. What are you thinking?”

“Do we stay here or go back to my house?” I tap my fingers on the counter as I wait for him to answer.

“I only see three guys. And the outside of your house looks empty.” He shrugs. “It’s your call.”

“I’m changing the locks tomorrow,” I grumble, heading for the door. “After I clean the floor.”

As we creep along the fence, he whispers, “You planning on making a mess?”

“Always.”

We sneak into the open front door, listening for movement and voices. But we stay in the entryway until we know where they are.

“We have to get her to Clay,” one minion says, sounding like he’s arguing.
