I waved the conversion away. “Call them what you want. Just tell me why they’re dead.”
Stone bit his lower lip. “Wrong place, wrong time?”
“Wrong fucking group. Wrong fucking bitch,” Sloane growled.
“What did they do?” I asked, needing more details.
“I told you. They were touching what they shouldn’t have.”
“I heard that,” I told her. “What were they touching?”
Sloane glared at Stone. The demon shrugged again, pursing his lips to hide his smile. She threw a chunk of… meat at him.
I rubbed my hand over my face, then frowned when I remembered it was covered in blood.
And now, so was my face.
“I don’t even know what to say,” I muttered. “We’ve been here for two days.”
“Pretty decent statistics, if you ask me,” Stone countered.
“He’s not asking you,” she snarked.
I pinched the bridge of my nose, spreading my fingers to massage under my eyes. “Why are all of you just standing around watching her mutilate—”
“Skin,” Sloane corrected. “I’m skinning the hookers, not mutilating them. That implies I don’t have a reason behind this, but I do.”
“What’s that?”
She smiled at me. “I want to make throw pillows for my couch.”
“Why the fuck are you idiots standing around while she turns hookers into throw pillows?” I grumbled. “What part of this sounds like a good idea?”
York shrugged. “They match.”
“It’s not like she can do it here,” Briggs informed me. “There’s an entire process to make it usable fabric.”
Palmer nodded. “We were debating whether or not she could find someone to do it.”
Novak raised his hand. “I told them this was a bad idea.”
“Gods,” I drawled in frustration. “You know it’s a bad idea when the vampire says it is.”
Sloane stood, glaring at the bodies. “It would have been a good idea if they had more meat on their bones. This is harder than I thought it would be.”
I pinched my nose again, laughing to myself. “You’re all insane.”
“But you love us,” the vampire cooed.

Late Night
After Vaughn told Sloane her parents wanted to see her, the entire night was ruined. She was in a decently good mood until that point.
Now?
She was a hot, snarling mess.
