But I didn’t have time to reply, because Novak and Briggs walked into the bar, their argument causing me to pinch the bridge of my nose in annoyance.
“Vaughn,” the wolf yelled. “Settle this dispute.”
“No. And you don’t have to shout. I can hear you just fine.”
He spun a chair around, sitting backward as he glanced at the druid. “Novak says–”
“Novak knows,” the vampire corrected from the bar.
“He thinks he knows,” Briggs retorted sarcastically.
“Tell them to shut up,” Palmer muttered from the doorway. “Please, for the love of everything unholy. Shut. Them. Up.”
Stone snorted. “I offered. The Irish bastard—”
“Last warning,” Palmer snapped at the grinning demon. “No more. I will mute you.”
York raised his brows, giving me half a smile. “I take it you’re in charge.”
“No one is in charge of these idiots,” Palmer told him.
I laughed, the edge of insanity creeping in. “Welcome to our chaos, Druid. May your rationality prevail where mine has failed. They’ll drive you to the brink of madness, if you let them.”

Night
Love was an unpredictable thing, wasn’t it?
Amidst the smoke and wreckage, it was a single bright flare. Or in this case, it was six glowing arcs of light showing me the way out of my chaos. But it wasn’t quite time to leave that valley of mayhem.
I eased the mental connections closed between my mates and me, wanting to keep my thoughts my own while I stewed. Novak watched me curiously when I opened an email on my phone as a diversion.
Not that it worked with the nosy vampire.
His gentle assault on my mental barrier was immediate. I knew I had precious seconds before he was in my mind, and that thought made me smile.
I could name a multitude of reasons as to why I’d fallen for my mates so quickly. But I was more focused on the exact moments I felt my heart swell… when love was recognized, even if I hadn’t known what it was at the time and still hadn’t said it aloud to all of them.
Those were moments I wanted to remember forever.
“And when did I make your heart flutter, Trouble?” Novak murmured, leaning against the doorframe with his hands tucked into his pockets.
I cut my eyes to him before glancing back at my phone. “You’re so nosy.”
“You’re avoiding my question,” he playfully accused, his golden irises alight with filthy promises. “If you show me yours, I’ll show you mine.”
“Is that so?” I tossed my phone onto the bed as I ambled toward him. “Tit for tat is the game you want to play?”
“Well, my tits are tatted, and yours aren’t, so I think I’ve already won that game. Just so you know, piercings count as double points. It’s going to take something earth-shattering for you to even out the score.”
“An eruption of epic proportions?”
He shook his head. “Show me the memories.”
I wrapped my arms around his neck, tugging him until our lips brushed when I spoke.
“Fine.”
