And we’ve had more sex recently. So much sex. The thought makes heat creep up my neck, and I clear my throat, forcing myself back to the present.

“I think we need to get Anya a babysitter,” I say.

Andrei briefly looks away from the road, his brows drawing together as he glances at me.

“Did something happen to Daria?” he asks immediately. “Are you not happy with her watching Anya?”

I shake my head quickly. “No, it’s not that,” I explain. “Daria is wonderful. Anya loves her.”

I pause, searching for the right words.

“It’s just… I kind of feel guilty,” I admit softly. “Having her watch Anya all the time while we’re at work. It feels like I’m burdening her.”

Andrei chuckles. “Daria doesn’t see it as a burden,” he says. “If anything, she likes watching Anya.”

He glances at me briefly before returning his eyes to the road.

“For years, Daria has been bugging me about getting married and having children for her to look after. In her words, the house was too quiet.”

I smile at that. “How long has Daria been working for you?”

“Daria started working for my parents when she was a young woman,” he says. “She became a second mother to me. And when I decided to move to New York, she insisted on coming with.”

There’s pride in his voice. Gratitude too.

“Daria is loyal,” I say.

“Yeah,” he replies simply. “She is.”

He pauses, then adds, “You shouldn’t try to take watching Anya away from her. She would be heartbroken.”

I nod slowly, understanding now.

“Okay, I won’t.”

His hand squeezes my thigh gently. “So, how do you like your new job?”

I smile.

“Well… it’s been good, actually,” I admit. “And the bonus?”

I turn slightly to face him, unable to hide my grin.

“My boss is hot.”

The car rolls to a stop at a red light. Andrei turns his head slowly toward me, feigning shock, one dark brow lifting. “Are you sleeping with your boss?”

I let out a soft laugh. “Oh, you need to see my boss,” I tease. “You wouldn’t blame me. He’s a very hot man.”

“Oh,” he says slowly, “you’re a very bad girl, Rosie.”

I smile, leaning back in my seat. “My boss thinks differently.”

I glance out the window as the car slows and pulls up in front of a high-end boutique.

I turn to Andrei, brows furrowed. “What are we doing here?”

“You mentioned needing more clothes for your new job,” he says casually, turning off the engine.
