Oh, the delicious fire in this little firecracker’s eyes. “Am I? I was waiting and waiting. I thought you didn’t want me.”
He stalks over to me, grabs my arm, twists it behind my back, and then the other one. I actually can’t get out of his hold.
“You bastard,” he snarls.
Then he bonds me. Right there in the street.
Who needs romance when I have blind possession and pure jealousy.
“WOOHOO! Go Harvest!”
I glance over, seeing my brother’s pack and his omegas laughing and watching. The little shit worries my neck, making sure his teeth are in deep.
I don’t care, I can feel that warm sense of him deep in my chest. When he pulls back, I lean forward and sink my own teeth into his neck.
The crowd cheers, and I notice absently that it’s growing, people drawn out of shops, watching in amusement.
“If you want to fall in love and meet your scent match, come visit Sunshine Cove!” Lorelei says into her phone.
I ignore them all. This has nothing to do with the town, Halloween, or anything. This is inevitable.
We were always going to meet.
Khione bounces over as I remove my teeth, licking the blood off my lips. She holds out her hand to me.
“What’s this?”
“When I did Trick Knot Treat, I made an extra stone. I wasn’t sure why, but now I know.”
I glance at the stone, perplexed. She’s painted a symbol of Lady Justice with a knife between her teeth.
“Cute.”
She holds the other out to Harvest. He swallows hard and scowls.
“Your family now, Gian. You’re going to have to come for dinner.”
My eyebrows go up. “No.”
Harvest turns on me. “Want to have our first fight, baby?”
Baby? I like the way he calls me, baby. And a fight sounds…delightfully productive.
“If it pleases you, we can fight, but after, I’m knotting you.”
“Uh, Alpha. No knots.”
I smile smugly. “We’ll see about that.”
His face pales, and then he gets lost in thought.
“Come on, Harvest, we need to go and…”
“Sorry, Khione, no can do. I have a…” he looks at me with dark and hungry eyes, “experiment.”
She looks between us and wrinkles her nose. “Fine, let us know when you want dinner.”
“Might be a few months.”
