“Yep. A big, ole stinky one. But the gas will clear, and he will be left feeling less distressed and realising that he just needed to let it out.”
She blinks rapidly. “Um, okay.”
Zaire strokes a hand down my spine.
Felix growls and elbows his way through, cupping my cheeks and glaring at me.
“You look fucking hot.”
I burst out laughing.
He picks me up, throws me over his shoulder, and turns back to his family. “Stay out of my way or help me. I don’t care which, but I’m done listening to anymore stupid suggestions that I abandon my alpha when he is having gas.”
I wave to the stunned Sol’s as Felix stomps out of the house.
“Now, where will we find Jace?”
“I know!”
Harvest bounces out of nowhere and falls into step with Zaire. Spectre grumbles at him, giving him a wary eye.
How does Harvest know? No, I don’t care.
“Where?”
“Well, Jace has a secret spot he goes to hide. Gian is with him.”
“Gian? As in his brother? I didn’t realise you were close?” I say sharply, watching him.
Harvest scowls. “We aren’t close so much as I was eavesdropping on their conversation.”
“Oh!” I chuckle. “Harvest, that’s really embarrassing for you.”
“Do you want to know where to find your alpha or not?” he says with an arched eyebrow.
Well, when he puts it that way.
“Yes, we want to know.”
He leads us into a park area and onto this pathway. At the end of a pathway is a massive rock and the sounds of two alphas talking, one of whom is incredibly familiar.
As we get closer, their words get louder.
“She’s leaving. She has someone waiting for her. I understand why he left. He’s scared. We’re all scared. What if it all falls apart? What if she doesn’t come back? What if Clint is happier there?”
The sound of someone getting smacked is loud, and I almost cheer Gian on.
“Ow!”
“Don’t be a moron. It’s Clint. You were made for each other. How long are you going to deny each other?”
“Deny?”
“Deny, pretend it’s not there, push each other away, do everything under the sun to not admit that you have been lusting after each other and Felix since the day you all met.”
“No, I mean, I…how the hell do you know all that?” Jace snaps.
“I read your man diary.”
