“Who?” Mayhem asked.
“Us.” He gestured between himself, Mayhem, and Chrome. “Tempest, Moon, Chris, Red, and Blue.”
Mayhem nodded. “You think it’s enough?”
“It’s not an army, but I don’t think we’ll need one,” Howler said.
“Don't want one,” Tempest said as she joined them.
Moon frowned. “If there are dozens of wolves being held there—”
“We don't know what we're walking into,” Tempest said. “A huge group announces us before we get close.”
Chris looked up from the map. “A small group gets in faster.”
“And if we need backup?” Moon asked.
“Dark Chaos will be ready,” Tempest said.
Howler nodded. “Silverfang too.”
Mayhem looked toward the eastern sky. It was still dark. They had hours before sunrise. “What's the route?”
Chris tapped the map. “This gets weird.”
Chrome smiled. “Everything tonight has been weird.”
Chris ignored him. “I know where the first turn is.”
Tempest frowned. “From your dream?”
“Yeah,” Chris said.
“How do you know?” Chrome asked.
Chris looked irritated. “I just do.”
Mayhem glanced at Moon. Her expression had gone thoughtful. “What?” he asked.
Moon walked toward Chris. “Show me the route.”
Chris pointed to a highway heading west. “Here.” Moon stared at the map and then closed her eyes. Mayhem felt the instant her wolf shifted inside her. The bond tugged at him, and he moved closer to her. Moon’s hand found his without looking. The second their fingers touched, Moon gasped.
Her eyes opened. “That's it.”
Tempest stepped closer. “You saw something?”
“The road,” Moon said.
Chris looked at her. “Same one?”
“Yes.” Moon pointed farther west. “Keep going,” she said as Chris traced the route.
“Here?” Chris asked.
“No.” She moved lower, and Moon's grip tightened around Mayhem's. “Stop.”
Chris froze, and Moon pointed. “There.”
