“Three were there.”
Mayhem’s jaw tightened. “And what happened to them?”
“They’re alive,” Howler said. Everyone exhaled. Howler continued. “But the place was searched.”
“For what?” Tempest asked.
“Not what,” he said. His gaze landed on Moon. “Who.”
Mayhem moved closer to her. “What do you mean?”
“They didn’t take weapons or money. They just took a file,” he said.
Moon already knew what was in that file. Her wolf knew before she even asked the question. “What file?”
Howler’s expression said he hated answering. “Yours.”
Moon’s hand slipped from Mayhem’s chest, and he caught it immediately. “My file?” she asked.
Howler nodded. “What did Silverfang have on me?”
“Standard intelligence from when we first started working with Dark Chaos,” he admitted.
Tempest’s eyes narrowed. “You ran files on my women?”
Howler looked at his mate. “You ran files on my brothers.”
“That’s different,” she insisted.
“How?” he asked.
“Because I did it,” she said under her breath. Mayhem coughed, and Moon nearly smiled.
Howler looked back at her. “Your basic history was in there. Medical credentials, club affiliation, and family history.”
Moon’s stomach dropped. “Family history?”
“Whatever we could find,” Howler admitted. “I didn’t compile it.”
“Who did?” Moon asked.
“An old Silverfang contact,” he said.
“When?” Tempest asked.
“Before we allied with Dark Chaos.”
Moon’s wolf paced. “What did it say about my mother?”
“Not much,” he said.
“Not much isn't nothing,” Moon spat.
Howler hesitated, and Mayhem growled. “Howler.”
His Prez sighed. “It listed Selene Vale as deceased.”
Moon nodded, because she knew that. “And?”
