He offered me his hand. "I can give you a ride home, unless you'd rather call someone else to get you."

I didn’t really have anyone to call, and there wasn’t anyone else I wanted to drive me home, even if I did have someone. "If you don’t mind taking me, that’d be great."

After clearing it with Casey, I waved over Beau. He was deep in conversation with one of the leather Daddies, but he excused himself and came over. “You ready to go?”

"Yeah." I tossed him my keys. "I'm gonna take Casey home in his car so we can get all his equipment back. Take my car home, would’ja?"

"Yeah, of course.” Beau glanced at the sweet boy who was now in my arms and smirked. “Have fun, you lucky dog." He said that last part quiet enough that I didn’t think Casey heard. If he did, he didn’t seem bothered by it.

I was not impressed. “I’ll call you tomorrow."

"Go get em’, Daddy." He winked and headed back to his friends.

Branson was already breaking down cables and packing up the travel cases when I got to the DJ booth. Between him and Mark, they got the equipment packed up and loaded into Casey’s trunk while I took care of Casey, who kept nodding off.

He looked up at me, awake again. "You don't have to babysit me."

"I’m not babysitting you, sweetheart. I just wanna make sure you get home okay.”

"You do?" He pressed closer to my side, clinging to me.

“I do.”

“I can walk now.”

“Okay, but stay close.” I didn’t love the idea of letting him down, but that was just me being selfish. I carefully lowered him to his feet and steadied him against me.

Casey’s fingers curled around my sleeve as we walked. "It’s kinda nice to have a big, strong Daddy to help me get home," he mumbled. “Cause of the punch and all.” It sounded like he was trying to justify his behavior to himself more than to me. It was adorable.

I bit back a smile. "Sure is. And it’s even nicer to have a sweet boy cuddled up to my side."

He buried his face in my chest and tightened his grip as we kept walking.

Once we got into his car, he gave me his address and started to nod off before I managed to get his seatbelt on. By the time I pulled outta the lot, he was passed out again.

When I got to Casey’s apartment building, I parked in a spot labeled guest, unsure where his assigned space might be. If he got a fine for it, I’d take care of it. "Casey, we're here. It’s time to wake up.” I hated disturbing him, but I had no idea which apartment was his or any codes that might be needed to get inside.

His eyes popped open, and for a split second, he looked confused. Then he saw my face and smiled. His trust did something to me. “Oh, okay.” Casey fully shook himself awake and was out of the car when I reached his side.

He walked slowly, still drowsy and likely feeling the effects of the alcohol. I stayed close, not wanting to overstep, but at the same time feeling very protective of the sweet boy. He swayed as he entered his door code, so I placed my hand on the small of his back to keep him steady.

When the door opened, he stepped inside and just stood there watching me, not speaking or moving at all. Then he stepped aside, and I took it as an invitation.

I stepped in behind him and shut the door. "You okay?”

"Mmhm." He didn't sound convinced.

I looked around the room and decided I couldn’t just leave him alone. I’d never forgive myself if something happened because I bailed on him. "Can I help you get ready for bed?"

He nodded, and his shoulders dropped before he leaned toward me.

I walked him down the hallway toward the bathroom. "You go potty while I grab some water."

“Okay.” He shuffled in but left the door cracked.
