“If you paid whatever her price was then you shouldn’t give anything back,” Aneesah said. “I’d keep them and sell them full price on a resale website.”
“I didn’t pay for them at all because she would do this dick riding shit where she always tries to give me stuff for free. I usually make her take some money, but that day I was in a rush and didn’t feel like going back and forth with her about it.”
“Yea…give that girl them stolen shoes back because that’s the main thing she’s holding onto,” I said.
“She’ll find something else to fuss about because she’s mad and she wants attention from either one of y’all.”
“She won’t get shit outta me at least until after I give birth…and I would hope the bitch isn’t holding onto this two months from now. But I wanna know one thing,” I looked at Armias. “How is she getting these shoes back?”
“I had Rahesha tell her to pull up here,” he replied. I was okay with that because she’d been to Rahesha’s house plenty of times before. I was just trying to make sure he hadn’t unblocked her number and agreed to meet her alone. I’d given him my blessing and space to do that for their last conversation. I wasn’t going for that shit anymore, and I would’ve felt that way regardless of if the conversation went good or bad.
“Does she know why she’s coming here?” Aneesah asked.
“Nope. All Rahesa told her was to come by so they could talk.”
“I bet she’s flying here in her car,” she laughed. “You know she thinks that being close to mama wins her brownie points with you.”
“And that just shows how much she don’t know me. I ain’t never cared about what that lady thinks.”
On que, Rahesha entered the room rocking a tight black maxi dress and a cheetah bonnet. She had her phone in one hand and she had a glass of wine in the other. I could tell she was tipsy and ready to be on her best bullshit. Things had been okay between us, so I was hoping she wasn’t going to say something stupid and fuck up our progress.
“Naz said she’s five minutes away, Armias.”
“Good, cause we ready to go home.”
Rahesha looked at me. “Thanks for coming over and getting my birthday girl together.”
“It was no problem. I was at home doing nothing and I miss doing hair.”
“Shit, you can do me next week on the morning of the baby shower then. I have an appointment but I can cancel and keep my money in my pocket.”
“Nah, keep your appointment. She ain’t doing no labor on the morning of our baby shower. Shit, the only reason she pulled up today was because it was an emergency for Neese. I don’t want her on her feet at all.”
“Armias, you really a hater tryna block my blessings! This girl not handicapped because she’s pregnant.”
“I ain’t say she was, but she’s not about to do your hair on the morning of our baby shower. She has shit to do for herself.”
“Like what? A makeup appointment is an hour tops and Fendi is doing her hair at the house. All I want is a ponytail, so that won’t take long. Can you do it, Lourdes?”
“Not on the morning of the baby shower. I can do it the day before though.”
“Chileeee,” she breathed like she was annoyed or something. The nerve! “I want it to be freshly done, so I better just keep the morning appointment I have.”
“That’s the smartest thing you can do,” Armias quipped.
“Anyways, Lourdes, I think it’s nice that you’re okay with Armias clearing the air with Naz. Her and Armias have been friends forever, so I hate that they have bad blood now.”
“Rahesha, what are you talking ‘bout?” He snapped. “I ain’t clearing no air with Naz. I’m finna give her these shoes back that she keeps bitching about. Where they at, Neese?”
She laughed. “Right in the front of my closet.”
“Boy, you really had me call that girl over here so you can give free shoes back? You must have lost your mind,” Rahesha fussed while Armias went over to Aneesah’s closet. He opened it and grabbed multiple pink bags off the floor. Naz was an upscale, bougie ass booster to have her own personalized shopping bags with her logo on them.
“Call it what you want, but I don’t do well with people thinking me or mine need them for anything. She can have all this shit back.”
“Well, what me and my baby supposed to wear on our feet for tomorrow?”
“Our?” Aneesah repeated.
