I shook my head, my eyes slowly drifting down from his face until I was looking at his dick, like a third leg, dangling, the big pink head with shower water slowly dripping down it. “I got too excited.” I put a hand over my dick, hoping he wouldn’t notice it.

“I know what you want,” he said, replacing my hand on me with his. “And I want you to have it.” The tip of his tongue healed, but his taste lingered, it always lingered, like the first real body I’d ever bitten. He didn’t make it difficult, in fact, he was making it too easy. “Let me restore you. Let me help.”

I nodded and he leaned in again. Now the hunger had me, and I was ready to give his tongue another go—but I wasn’t quite ready for his skin.

10. HARLAN

Touching Micah was electric. When he’d bit the tip of my tongue, and every time his fangs had touched me, he’d sent an electricity through me, like I’d been stunned, except I was still in control, focused, and I wanted him to touch me more, to feed on me.

We cleaned up in the bathroom and headed to the bedroom in our towels. Micah’s eyes were wide, and the way he looked at me, both scared and excited me.

“I’ll guide you,” I told him, sitting on the bed, and he immediately sat on his knees in front of me, his hands pawing at the towel. “I know what you want, and I’ll give it to you. You have my permission to bite me.”

His lower lip trembled, it was adorable, as he did his best to get his words out. “You make me hungry,” he let out with the most adorable pout. “And I don’t know what I’ll do if I’m hungry like they get.”

I stroked his face. “Ignore them. You’re not them.”

“But I might be.”

“From the time we’ve spent together, I know you’re not like them,” I said. “Now, get on this bed and kiss me again.”

Micah sat on my lap, legs wrapped as far as they could go around my thick waistline. He did just as he was told, kissing me, his cool lips leaving behind a finger-curling need for more. His kisses were all over my face before he got to my lips. He pressed a thumb to part them.

“I don’t want to hurt you.”

“You’ve not hurt me once,” I told him.

His sweet chest let out a couple of moments of panic against mine. I held him tight, still, close to me. Closer than I’d held anything in recent years. My hairy chest practically tempting the atoms in his skin to fuse to mine.

It took him a moment, but once he was there, in the comfort of the moment, his tongue was in my mouth, and mine was now fighting to go inside his. I wanted his bite, I wanted to teach him that it was okay, there was no pain in it, but he used his supernatural tongue to push mine out like it was a game. And in some ways it was, much like a carnival game where you keep bashing a hammer down on a metal plate and watch as the bolt rises—the bolt being the tightness under my towel, and his tongue the hammer. It was the most fun I’d had in a while, and I’d once watched a timelapse of a tree grow over five years.

Lying on the bed with Micah straddled over my waist, I’d already given in to him, to letting him work on me. And then his fang touched my tongue, sharp, forcing me to recoil and flinch my mouth shut. Micah’s lips were covered in blood. I licked the tip of my tongue and gulped hard.

“I’m sorry,” he said.

“No, no, I’m sorry,” I said, tasting the iron of my blood on my tongue as it became numb. “I want you to.” I stuck my tongue out.

He smiled. “I don’t know if I can,” he said. “It’s sensitive there for you.”

“Then at least help me heal it,” I whispered, pulling him back in.

In the process, he managed to lick at the blood from my tongue like a cat would, extending his tongue, dipping it to mine, all the while staring at me with his eyes slightly downturned, sad.

He finally rested his head on my chest as I stroked my fingers beneath his chin. “You’ve done nothing wrong,” I told him. “The body reacts however the body does. It doesn’t reflect my mind. I promise you.”

“I just—” he pushed his fingers through my chest hair. “I’ve seen people in pain, and I’ve never wanted to do that to someone.”

I rolled over, forcing him onto the pillow. “You need to get out of your head.”

“Then where would I go?” he asked, exhaling out a deep breath, and my own body could feel him deflate right under me. “I just wish I didn’t hurt when I bit.”

I kissed him on the nose. “There are ways around it.”

His big eyes blinked at me. Then, with his supernatural strength, he rolled over until he was back on top of me. “Really?”

“Well, you know, there are things we could use to numb me,” I said. “Then I wouldn’t feel it.”

Micah tutted. “The only issue is that I’d still have to bite. Other vampires have bites that slice through, but me, I’m basically stuck like this.” He leaned his head back, showing off his little fangs. They were larger than mine still—not that I had anything like fangs. “And I’ll never get away from it.”
