“I can tell.” He kissed her and pulled her body next to his.

He told himself to go slow. But her kisses were full of demands and passion, and in the end, he couldn’t really remember her pulling his clothes off. What he did remember was the feeling of her exposed skin under his fingertips as he removed each article of her clothing.

He admired the way she looked in nothing but a simple cotton bra and panties that rode high up on her hips.

She was a lot sexier than he’d imagined. Her skin was perfect without so much as a freckle on it anywhere. As he ran his hand over her, the contrast of his freckled hand against her smooth skin was like art from two different artists sitting on one canvas.

She was like porcelain and deserved to be treated with care.

He lifted her in his arms and carried her to the bed, where he laid her down gently. He covered her body with his own. After that, his desires for her completely took over his thoughts.

When he slipped a finger under the cotton she was wearing, sexy moans filled his mind.

“Harper, I won’t last long if you keep that up,” he said after she grabbed his cock and started stroking him slowly.

She stilled, looking up at him. “Do you have condoms?”

He quickly pulled a package from his nightstand and felt her relax. Seeing her naked under him made him want to explore more of her.

Instead of sliding the condom on, he left it on the nightstand and then, using his mouth, traveled down her body until he was nestled between her thighs.

She tasted like spring. Her skin was so soft, he wanted to spend hours enjoying her. However, his own needs had him traveling back up her body as he felt her shiver under him.

He slid on the condom and returned to hover over her. Her long hair was fanned out on his bed, and her dark eyes watched him. Trusted him. Wanted him.

Smiling, he leaned in and kissed her. “Trust me,” he whispered as he slid into her.

At that moment, as he lost complete control of himself, he realized that his heart no longer belonged to him. Without realizing it, his feelings for Harper had become so strong that he’d give anything to ensure her safety. Anything.

“I can’t move,” Harper groaned as she lay half over him a while later. Her hair was lying on his shoulder, and he ran his fingers through the long tresses.

“Then don’t,” he suggested. “Stay here. I’m sure Lucy and Blue are fast asleep again.”

“I should go home.” She lifted her head and looked down at him.

The room was darker but the light from the streetlamp outside was enough that they could see one another clearly.

“Should?” he asked, arching his eyebrows. “You don’t have work tomorrow, right?”

“Right,” she said, resting her fist on his chest and then setting her chin on it.

“I’m off for the next two days. We can do something together tomorrow. Maybe take the dogs to the beach?” he suggested.

She was quiet for a moment. “I should text Hailey and let her know where I am.”

“Okay,” he said easily as his hand moved down to her lower back. “You can do that, later.” He lifted up and kissed her.

Then in a quick move, he spun them around until she was underneath him. Seeing her laugh up at him sent a jolt of energy pulsing through his body.

Waking up with Harper wrapped around him was one of the best feelings he’d ever experienced. It was right up there with the first time Blue had snuggled into his chest at night.

“Morning,” Harper said, causing him to wake quickly. He’d expected her to be asleep for a little longer.

“You’re awake?” he asked, feeling slightly groggy.

“Yes.” She shifted to look down at him. “I heard Lucy bark and was about to slip out of bed to go let them out.”

He heard the dogs now and sighed. “We’ll go down together.”
