He sighed as he pulled her closer. “It depends.”

“On?” she asked, holding in a yawn.

“When you want to move in.”

She sat up and looked down at him.

“We really need to talk about your timing,” she said, nudging him in the ribs.

He smiled up at her and then, the next moment, she was pinned under him. His mouth trailed over her skin.

“Do you require moonlight and flowers to be asked if you’re going to move in with me?” he teased her.

“No woman needs a special occasion for flowers,” she pointed out. “My dad brings my mother flowers at least once a week.”

He shifted until he was looking down at her, a slight frown on his lips. “It’s about once a month for my parents. Most of the time my dad picks them from my mother’s garden.” He smiled. “I plan on having a garden of my own since it saves a ton of money.”

She nudged him in the side and then giggled when he started kissing her neck, one of the tickle spots he knew very well.

“You’re terrible,” she said softly. “And you’re going to wake up the entire household.”

He glanced around. “I think that’s why they gave me this room. It’s on a whole different side of the house.

“No, Becca’s room is directly above this. We could hear you snoring every night,” she teased, earning a fresh bout of tickle kisses from him.

When they finally settled down again, she felt completely relaxed in his arms.

“It was inevitable, you know,” she said.

“What?” he asked softly. She could tell he was halfway asleep.

“Us,” she said, and then she drifted off to sleep.

She woke to the smell of bacon and coffee. In her book, this was unusual, since most days she was the first one awake.

She opened her eyes and held in a gasp as a bunch of yellow daisies were held inches from her face.

“Good morning,” Rick said with a smile.

“You’re awake,” she said with a slight frown as she took the bundle of wildflowers and enjoyed their happiness.

“It’s closing day,” he pointed out.

She had somehow forgotten that today was the day she, Becca, and Bridget would be heading down to the bank to close on the lot.

Suddenly, she perked up. “Yes, it is.” She smiled and took the tray of food Rick offered her. “Where’s yours?” she asked as he settled beside her.

He chuckled and reached for a slice of bacon, and she slapped his hand away playfully. Then she reached over and gave him the piece as they shared the breakfast together. While they ate, Rick pulled out his laptop and they went over the plans again.

She’d had dreams about living in one of the floorplans that night, and as they looked at it and talked about it, they realized that both of them liked that plan the best.

By the time she was dressed and ready to head into town to close on the lot, Rick had already talked to his developer and told him which floor plan they’d settled on.

As the four of them drove into town with Rick behind the wheel, he filled Bridget and Becca in on the construction and talked about having to pick colors and flooring for the home.

She’d have to do the same for the building they’d be moving soon. They had just finished painting the walls on the rental. Thankfully, all she was out now was a few buckets of paint and all the hours she and Becca had taken to complete the two walls they’d gotten done. They still had some gallons of the color Maggie had picked out and loved, which matched her own store in Fairplay.

“We still have a few gallons of paint, so we can just use the rest of it,” Becca suggested.
