Where was she?
He groaned softly as he peeked an eye open. He felt sore and exhausted in the most wonderful way, and he was perfectly content to remain lying where he was, enjoying the shower of lukewarm water from above.
Eight paws entered his vision, and he forced himself to tilt his head to meet two sets of amber eyes.
“I’m not done yet,” Kira growled, her tone sounding sulky as her wolf forms whined. “More.”
It was his turn to laugh, a spluttering sound as he choked on water. “I don’t think I can.”
One of the wolves lowered her head and nudged him hard, turning him onto his back. She crept closer, her snout hovering near his shoulder.
“Feed from me,” she offered. “And then we’ll go again.”
Nathaniel burst out laughing, his body shaking as he covered his face against the onslaught of shower water.
“I’m serious,” Kira pouted. “I want you. I want more.”
He seized the thick fur at her neck and tugged her closer.
“Then let me deliver.”
He sank his teeth into her neck, and after he drank his fill, he sank his cock into each of them and filled them both once more.
Chapter 28
Happiness
Kira
Kira’s coiled tails swished in happy, lazy wags as she lay on the bed, one of her wolf forms on either side of Nathaniel.
“That tickles, you know,” he smiled with eyes still shut.
“I know.”
She trailed the furred ends of her tails along his chest, stomach, and hip, continuing all the way along his lean legs to the tips of his toes.
He chuckled and pulled her close, one wolf in each arm, and buried his face in her fur. He inhaled deeply, and she adored his contented groan.
In fact, she adored every part of Nathaniel, and it was bizarre to think she’d once loathed him. Somewhere along the way, she’d fallen hard, and now, she was dangerously and irrevocably devoted to him.
What she felt for him was more than words could describe. It went far deeper than the Master/pet relationship the academy tried to instil between its students.
Her heart had never felt so full, nor had she ever felt as safe as she did in Nathaniel’s presence. It was a crazy feeling, being in love—especially with a vampire—but there it was.
Never mind that she was half vampire herself. That was a revelation she still hadn’t fully processed. She was still hung up on the fact that this cold, ruthless vampire, with his icy heart, wasn’t so ruthless after all, and that far from wanting to kill her as she had once feared, he loved her. Really, truly, desperately loved her, enough to trust her with his darkest fantasies and relinquish control.
Just as she loved him.
It gave her the sense of belonging she’d never known she needed. Who would have thought that being this vulnerable with another person could feel so good? The readiness with which Nathaniel had opened his heart and mind to her had given her the courage to do the same.
The road ahead would be arduous and messy, but they were a team, and one way or another, they would find a way to come out the other side and be together.
Sort of.
Gloria would have Nathaniel, but Kira had his heart, and that was enough to sustain her, at least for now. Nathaniel had promised her they would face the future together, and she trusted him to be honest with her. He valued her as his partner, and they were a team.
A pack.
