“That’s for sure.”

“Actually, I think you two hate each other, don’t you?”

I laugh. Yeah, he’s right, but he doesn’t know half of it.

Ever since that crazy night last Christmas, Chastity and I have tried to avoid each other to the best of our ability, but that’s pretty hard to do in our office. We’re practically on top of each other every single day. I’m glad she’s stuck to the pinky promise, though, and didn’t tell everyone she knew about our drunken shenanigans. That’s been a pleasant surprise.

But, even so, she’s still somehow found ways to piss me off. Every time I’ve seen her about there’s something new for her to annoy me with. For one, she’s never responded to a single email I’ve sent to the social media department. When I went to confront her about this, she merely told me that she’ll get back to me in five to six business days without even looking up from her computer. She never did respond except for an email containing a single word - dickface. I mean, come on, it’s not even a proper word.

Then there was that time when she jumped in front of me in the line for the microwave at lunch. She just sidled up to her friend who was in front of me and handed over her Tupperware box. Jumping in front. Completely blanking the fact that I was obviously waiting behind her friend. Yeah, I know it sounds so petty to be affected by that, but Chastity so clearly knew what she was doing. And she took delight in it. That was the most infuriating part. I saw her smirk.

Dickface. Ugh.

Oh, how she loves cutting in front of me. It’s like a mission for her. There’s a whole criminal charge sheet I can make up of what she’s done. She takes my parking spot. She makes sure she gets to the water cooler before I do to make me wait. Every time we pass each other in the hallway she makes sure she pokes her tongue at me. All those little things that add up to one big headache for me.

She knows exactly what she’s doing.

Her little antics are perfectly designed to ruin my day. And this has been going on for an entire year. It’s like she’s permanently out to get me.

And I hate it.

I hate her.

I can’t believe I slept with her. It was the worst fucking mistake of my life.

Christmas reminds me of that night. I hated Christmas before I met her, and now I really hate it. Her naked body. In that bed. The sexy way she yelped every time I spanked her. The irresistible way she made me so damn hard. That glorious explosion of an orgasm I felt when I finished inside her sweet wet pussy.

It truly was the worst fucking mistake of my life.

“Oh, we hate each other,” I reply to Aidan.

“She’s pretty hot, though. Don’t you think so?”

I take a sip of my beer.

“I’ve never thought about her in that way,” I lie.

Because no matter how fucking annoying that girl is, there is a part of me – buried deep, deep down – that does think she’s pretty hot. A very deep part of me that does somehow find her incredibly attractive.

And that’s what I hate most about her.

Because I can’t stop thinking about that night one year ago.

CHASTITY

“That, honestly, was one of the worst dates I’ve ever been on, and I’ve been on a few.”

I look up at Evie from my Negroni and smile.

“Oh, now you’re gonna have to tell me what happened on this date. Everything. You can’t tease me like that, Evie. Unload everything.”

My best friend flicks her hair back and drowns the rest of her Cosmopolitan like she’s readying herself for battle.

I can already tell that this story is going to be extra juicy. Evie’s ones always are.

“Where do you want me to start?”
