“To kick your ass? I’m always ready for that, Miss Finn. I can’t wait to take you back to my room, then I can really spank your ass.”

“That’s not likely to happen.”

BAM. Another shot down.

Things are starting to get a little blurry, but I press on.

Another shot glass in our fingers.

“You still haven’t given up?” I ask him, and Skipper shakes his head with a grin.

“Oh, I’m just picturing you naked in my bed, Miss Finn, and it’s a very good picture. I’m sure we’ll be re-enacting it in a few minutes back at the hotel.”

“Not in a million years, Skipper.”

BAM. Another shot. Another wall of fire down my throat.

I’m still okay. I’m still okay.

We take another shot. BAM. And another. BAM.

It’s getting tough now.

I’m starting to really feel it.

My body is warm. I want to get out of this dress. I want a shower.

Soon I might even want to throw up.

But I hold it in. I’m not going to give Skipper the satisfaction of taking me home tonight. I’m not going to give in to him that easily.

One more shot.

BAM.

Now my mind is spinning, I feel it in my head. And so does Skipper. He’s looking dizzy. If he’s that bad I wonder what I’m looking at. I don’t think I can make it past the next shot. I don’t think I can do it.

But I still reach forward and grab the next shot glass off the table. The clear tequila looks terrifying to me. This one’s gonna destroy me, I know it. I close my eyes and shoot it down.

Ugh. Not good.

I place the empty glass back on the table, and then I realize something. Skipper hasn’t taken a glass.

He’s shaking his head at me.

He’s smiling.

“Fuck me, Sandy, you’re too damn good at this,” he slurs. “Fine. You win.”

I win?

I beat him.

I raise my hand in the air and cheer. Then I immediately lower it.

I feel sick.

I better get home.
