“I mean, the whole team scored one and a half goals while I was gone. Do you think they have time to waste?”

I should probably be offended on behalf of the team, but I can’t find it in me when he looks so gleeful. Besides, he’s right – without him, our offense has been terrible…and I’m glad he knows it. He finds his suitcase – my suitcase, I guess – and grabs it off the carousel.

“One and a half? I wasn’t aware there were half goals in hockey.”

He laughs.

“You think we should give full credit for ricochets off the other team?”

I shake my head, personally feeling that one should have been scored as an own goal anyway. Finally, I spot Finn’s gear bag as it comes by and grab it, throwing it over my shoulder. As I turn to head to the car, he trails behind me for a moment, finally jogging to catch up with me.

“Your knee doing okay?”

I wonder what he thinks he’s seen; in spite of my lapse earlier in the week, I haven’t been struggling too much with swelling or pain.

“Pretty much business as usual. Why?”

His cheeks turn a faint pink.

“Just wanted to make sure you remembered without me.”

Part of me wants to lie, to assure him that I’m a grown-ass adult who is perfectly capable of handling his own injury. But I’m not sure he’s ever told me a lie – and certainly not one as big as that one.

“Well, I might have forgotten for a night or two. But then a very bossy six-year-old took over my care.”

He laughs at this as we load the two bags into the back of the car, arms brushing briefly as we do. Without thinking too much, I reach out to grab his hand, pulling him closer into me.

“I like the way you do it better, though.” I wish I could kiss him, but for now I’m just glad to have him close – for however long I get to keep him.

At the apartment, Finn shovels the remaining enchiladas into his mouth, clearly starving. As I rinse out the container at the sink, he comes up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist.

I can’t help but be grateful that Novak pushed me to call Finn, to make sure he knew I’d been missing him. Ever since those words, he’s grown a little bolder with me, both on the phone and now here in person. Before, he’d have waited for me to initiate; now, he’s comfortable being the one to make the first move.

Putting the dish in the drying rack, I turn slightly, kissing his cheek as he rests his head on my shoulder.

“Blowjobs then nap, or nap then blowjobs?”

A boyish grin lights up his face.

“Well, I don’t know about you, but I’ve got priorities. Blowjobs first, obviously.”

I laugh at that.

“You’re just saying that because you know it will put you straight to sleep.”

He blushes, but doesn’t deny it.

“Let’s go to my room, more room to spread out.”

I hold his hand, pulling him behind me down the hallway. When we get there, I back him up against the wall, taking the kiss I’ve wanted since the airport. Hell, since that phone call.

I cover his body with mine, touching as much of him as I can. Our chests are pressed together, my leg between his, my tongue in his mouth. We fit together like two puzzle pieces. I feel him grow hard against me and find my hips canting, pressing my dick into his hip.

Unexpectedly, he pushes against me. I back off, wondering what’s wrong, but he doesn’t stop pushing until I’m on the bed and he’s on top of me.

Fuck, I missed this.

Our dicks are rubbing together and it starts to seem like a blowjob may not be necessary after all. Just as I’m deciding to commit to dry humping like teenagers, Finn pushes himself up off of me. Unbuttoning my jeans, he scoots them and my briefs down my hips and thighs, leaving them around my ankles.
