I know that I hurt her by putting distance between us.

I thought it was the right thing to do.

Feelings have no place in my life.

But now I don’t know what the fuck I feel.

ELENA

Two Weeks Later

Suit’s detachment in the last few weeks has hurt. He hasn’t come to my bed, and from what I’ve heard, he’s not a man who goes without sex. Thinking about him fucking another woman after what we shared has been haunting me, so I’ve made sure to keep myself busy. On top of learning how to fight with Angel, I’ve been helping Blade work on a few things too. Prez asked me if I could balance their books for a few of their businesses and said he’d pay me for it, so I gave them my bank details. I’m slowly becoming more independent and a lot more than just a Bratva princess.

If only Suit would stop being stubborn and give this marriage a real chance, because seeing him in all those white office shirts and tailored pants every day is driving me crazy. He’s so muscular you can see his biceps and abs through the shirt material! I’m going to buy him some thicker shirts for Christmas.

Don’t ask me how he makes professional office attire slutty, but he does.

I know he feels something for me, but maybe it’s just possession. I am his wife, after all, and he loves to remind us all of that. He made sure he went with me to Pyro’s house, because he doesn’t like me to be there alone with him. And every time I’m training with Angel, he suddenly shows up there too. When he’s at work, I know the men message him and update him on my every move.

For someone who doesn’t care, he is in my fucking business a lot.

“Does Suit know that you’re here?” Rune asks me when I approach him at King Cobra Ink. He’s sitting opposite me on a chair, looking extremely hot. He’s got perfectly tousled dark hair, even darker eyes, and he’s inked from the neck down. He has a lip ring in the center of his lower lip and two black hoops in each ear.

“No. Do I need a permission slip from him?” I tease, and he smiles widely, flashing me a twin set of dimples.

Hell. If Suit doesn’t want me, maybe Rune could take me out.

“Rune, give her the damn tattoo or I will,” Atiana says from the door, scowling at him. “She’s not his old lady. She can do what she wants.”

“She’s his wife, though.” He smirks, running his thumb along his lower lip. “All right, show me what you want.”

I hand him the piece of paper where I’d roughly drawn what I wanted. “You can make any changes if you want, or make it more your own design.”

I’d seen some of Rune’s work and knew he would make it amazing.

“Where do you want it?” he asks, picking up a pen and sketching something. My eyes linger on his inked hands.

“On my shoulder. Maybe the bird cage at the shoulder blade and then the bird can fly out onto my shoulder,” I suggest.

He nods, playing with his lip ring with his teeth. I don’t know how Atiana gets any work done around here.

“What about something like this?” he asks, showing me the new design. It’s what I wanted but way better.

“I love it.” I beam, smiling up at him.

He winks at me. “Let me get it ready for you, sweetheart.”

He does something on his phone, then gets to work on the stencil. Thirty minutes later, I’m lying on my stomach, my top off and my bra undone. Rune works on my bare back while chatting to me. It hurts, but not as bad as I thought it would.

“You know, once you get one tattoo, you usually get addicted,” he teases.

“I know. I already have an idea for my second one.” I grin. My eyes are closed, and the sound of the gun is oddly soothing.

“Suit’s name on your ass?” he jokes, amusement in his tone.

“Not like he’d ever see it,” I mutter, and Rune’s hands still.

“What did you say?”
