The Karamazov were nearly all gone.

She was also told that Venom had gotten the main leader, the man who started it all, and kept him alive the whole time she was in a coma. She knew Venom’s anger had shocked a lot of the club, but she didn’t care. This was her man.

“I don’t need the getaway car,” Morwenna said. “I’m happy.”

Bolt looked at her and nodded his head. “I can tell.”

She laughed. “Is this weird for you?”

“Yeah and no. Yeah, because the truth is, I wish you were still mine. No, because you’re my best friend and I want you to be happy. I mean that, Morwenna. All I want for you is your happiness.”

She smiled. “I am happy.”

“Venom makes you happy?”

She nodded. “He does.”

“Well, he certainly has shown that he is willing to go to hell and back to keep you safe. I’ve got to respect him for that.”

At the sound of a voice clearing in the doorway, she turned to see her father.

“Morwenna,” he said.

“I take it we’re starting?” Bolt asked.

“Yeah, they’re just waiting for you.”

Bolt was the one and only man of honor and bridesman. She didn’t need an elaborate affair.

Venom had shocked her by getting the priest, the church, as well as her dream dress for the big day.

Bolt gave her one final look, and Morwenna glanced down at her wedding dress. She loved Bolt, but she wasn’t in love with him. Her feelings for Venom were on a completely different level.

“How do I look, Dad?” she asked, lifting out her skirt for him to see.

“Like a dream, just as I imagined you looking all those years ago,” he said. He had tears in his eyes.

“Dad, don’t, you’re going to make me cry and the makeup artist worked so hard to make me look pretty.”

“Honey, you’re always beautiful.” He cupped her face and pressed a tender kiss on her head. “You’re a dream.”

“You’re not going to tell me I’m making a big mistake?”

“No, this one is right for you.” Her first wedding day with Bolt, her father had spent the whole time trying to get her to cancel the wedding. At the time, she truly believed she was pregnant, only to find out a week later she wasn’t. This was different. This was not a marriage in a panic. This was real.

They made their way out of the room at the church, walked toward the entrance, and she slid her arm through her dad’s the moment the music started.

“This is it,” Gus said.

She held onto her dad’s arm, and she felt so nervous, until she turned at the end of the aisle, and her gaze caught on to Venom’s. The moment she looked at him, she felt grounded.

She didn’t avert her gaze and neither did he, and in her mind as she walked down that small aisle, surrounded by the club, their friends, their family, she remembered seeing him that first day back as he got out of prison. Then his laughing face as they hung out together. How safe she felt around him. He was the only one to not lie to her. Of course, he would eventually lie to her, but he did so to keep her safe, not for selfish reasons.

Morwenna didn’t know when or how, but slowly, she had fallen in love with this man. He held her whole heart, and as she stood before him, and her father placed her hand within Venom’s, she knew everything was as it should be. This was the love of her life.

This was not a rushed wedding, but the one she had always wanted.

Venom asked her what she wanted from a wedding, and rather than make it quick, he’d delivered.
