Today wasn’t my normal day to go to the grocery store, but I decided I wanted to make stuffed salmon at the last minute. I’d been craving it. My breasts were sore, and I’d been a bit cranky because it was close to the time for my period to come on. I hated that mufucka with a passion. It wasn’t as heavy as it used to be, since I’d gotten my IUD, but I still hated whenever it was time for it.

Holding my basket, I walked around Publix in search of everything that I would need to make dinner. Before I even came here, I made a stop by the ABC store and grabbed some wine. Tonight, it was me in the kitchen with a good glass of wine and some slow jams.

“You so pretty,” a child said as I passed her and who I thought was her mama.

“Thank you.” I flashed her a smile. “You’re pretty too.” I never missed a beat when it came to letting lil girls know how beautiful they were. It was mandatory that they learned it early.

Cheese was the last thing that I needed to grab, then I could leave the store. After picking it up, I headed to the checkout lines. All of them were pretty long except for self-checkout. I still didn’t understand why people didn’t want to use it. That was the quickest way to get out of the store. I loved bagging my own groceries.

“Have a nice day,” the Publix customer service worker said as I grabbed my bags and headed out the door.

I stopped and looked both ways in the parking lot before stepping off the curb. Soon as the tip of my shoe touched the pavement, a black Sprinter Van slammed on brakes in front of me. My bags dropped to the ground, and I removed my pistol from my purse. One thing about me, they were never gon’ catch me slipping.

By the time I had my gun aimed, the door on the van was open. Three men were right there in my face. I fired at the first one, hitting him right in the eye. His body fell back in between the other men. Before I was able to hit the other one, I was tackled to the ground.

“Get off me!”

I squirmed underneath him. He had my hand pinned against the ground. He slammed my wrist against it, but I had a death grip on the gun.

“Do you not know who I am!” I kneed him in between the legs, and the second guy snatched the gun away from me. “Help!” I yelled as I was grabbed and tossed over his shoulder. “Somebody, help!”

People watched as these men fucking kidnapped me. Nobody bothered to come and help me. I was tossed into the back of the van, and the guy that I shot lay there next to me. Blood pooled underneath his head.

When I looked up at the man in front of me, the driver slipped a zip tie on my wrists. “My family is gonna fucking kill all of y’all once they find out that y’all took me,” I warned, but they didn’t seem fazed by my threat.

The door shut on the van, and the other two men took their seats while I sat there on the floor.

“I can’t believe this shit,” I mumbled to myself. If I wasn’t craving that got damn salmon, I would’ve had my black ass at home.

I observed them, trying to figure out a way that I was gon’ escape this madness. The guy that tackled me sat there with his phone up to his face. His fingers moved swiftly across the screen. The second one stared out the window. Neither one of them had a weapon on them. That was the crazy part. How you come and kidnap someone without a fucking weapon?

Wicked was gon’ be so disappointed in me. He was the one who taught me how to shoot. I allowed them to get one up on me, and now I was sitting here waiting to see what their plans for me were.

The van seemed to have driven forever when I felt it coming to a halt. I slightly lifted from the floor and peeked out the window just for me to see nothing but grass for miles. The van started again, and everything went dark. It was still daytime, but wherever I was, it was dark as hell.

The door on the van opened, and that was when I could see that we’d driven through a tunnel. The door came down at the top of the tunnel, and then the lights flicked on. They climbed out the truck, and one of them reached for me. I kicked his ass right in the face. He stumbled back and frowned at me. His hand lifted in the air as if he was about to hit me, but it was caught midair by someone behind him.

“You touch her, and you die.”

My eyes bucked from the familiar voice. I’d heard those words before. The guy was slung away from the van, and Savion’s face came into view.

“Are you trying to get yourself killed?” I asked him as he stood there, staring at me.

“I’m gonna let you out of the van and take the zip tie off. Do you promise that you’ll behave?”

Now he was talking to me like I was a child. If he brought his ass near me, I was gon’ fuck him up. Savion’s eyes drifted to the guy dead beside me.

“You did that?” he asked when he looked back at me.

Your ass next.

“Why don’t you let me out of here and find out?” My brow arched to my hairline.

“You’re not being a good girl, Solei.”

Why did the way he said my name make my pussy throb? This man had me tied up in a van and was sending signals to my pussy. What the fuck was wrong with me?

“Fuck that. Why am I here?”
