“Honestly, I think we need to shut it down. Everything. There’s only one way this could go and I’m not liking our odds,” he replied. Mia knew he was right but shutting everything down was a big step to take. She looked around at all the friends she had made, all the people who she considered to be family. They were all so happy and she wished it could stay that way.

“I agree with Adam,” she said.

If law enforcement was hot on their tracks there could only be one solution. They would have to get rid of everything and that meant more than just shutting it down. They couldn’t risk anyone finding out what they did behind the scenes. No one needed to know about the drugs and the people they were involved with. That had to stay between them.

“Okay, let’s shut down the party and I think it’s best if we get rid of any evidence we have here,” Sage replied. The three of them looked at each other and nodded their heads in agreement.

“Listen up!!” Sage shouted while Adam started to walk to the office. Everyone stopped and someone turned down the music. “Unfortunately, we’re going to have to shut down the party ladies and gents,” he continued. The crowd made a noise in disagreement but no one fought back. It was clear they all knew something was up. Sage had enough authority over the club that people trusted his instincts.

“We need all ears to the ground right now. The Omens are coming and we need to be prepared. I need a few guys to go help Adam in the office. We’re shutting it down and getting rid of everything!” he said. A few men stepped forward and Sage indicated for them to go to Adam. Mia watched as Sage took control, ordering people to do certain things and making sure everything was sorted.

She couldn't help but find it extremely sexy watching him as he took charge. She knew at that moment that there were bigger things to worry about but her heart beamed with pride as she watched the true leader Sage was. Sage made his way to her after giving orders to the men.

“I need to call Fiona and tell her what’s going on,” he said.

“You’re right, she’d want to know. We need to know what our next move is,” she replied. Fiona, of course, would have to agree with them. They had no other choice but to get rid of everything that could tie them to any of the shady business they had done.

Sage walked away from Mia as he dialed Fiona’s number and after a few minutes he was back at her side.

“What did Fiona say?” Mia asked.

“She agreed that we need to shut everything down. She even suggested that we burn everything to the ground if needed,” he replied. She was glad Fiona agreed with Sage as it was already too late to turn back as Adam had already started to rip up all the folders in the office.

“Do you think that’s necessary?” she asked. It seemed a bit extreme to her when she thought about it.

“Honestly, I don’t think we need to burn it all down but maybe we should burn all the evidence. That way there’ll definitely be nothing for anyone to find,” he said.

“I agree. Maybe tell Adam and the guys to do that. I would hate to lose this place,” she said as she looked around the bar. It held so many memories for her and she didn’t want to burn it to the ground because of the Omens, especially not because of them. Sage went over to Adam and Mia watched as Adam nodded along to what Sage was saying. At least everyone is on the same page, she thought.

Mia realized how tired she was as she looked over at the clock. It was still early but she longed to be at home, away from all the noise and chaos if only for a while. She knew the situation wouldn't just go away after sleeping. It would still be there when she woke up but a part of her just wanted it to be done. She was tired of it all and she wished she had a more normal life. She looked over at Sage and knew that she would go anywhere he went. She would follow him regardless of the situation, which is why she hadn't walked away already. She knew she could've walked away when he had been kidnapped. She could have found him and then left for good. Maybe she could've been a famous artist somewhere but she also knew that her life would've been empty without Sage by her side.

Sage made his way back to her and she felt comfortable with him by her side. She knew at that moment that she had made the right choice by wanting to stay with the Screaming Demons. Even if it was filled with drama and near-death experiences, she would take it in a heartbeat over any other life she could've had. Sage took her hand and led her toward the door.

"Let's go home," he said. Mia nodded her head and followed him as he led her to the car. She loved him with all that she had and there would be no way she would leave him. She knew he had chosen her and her heart finally relaxed after all the worry of him leaving. Lorraine was no longer a threat to their relationship. She was still a threat but a threat they could fight together.
