If he died right then, with a hard dick and balls so tight they were on the verge of explosion, he would never be happier. This was his wife, the one woman who he would never be able to live without and tonight, he planned to show her just how much she meant to him.

When he slipped inside her, he watched her, the wideness of her eyes, the softness in her smile. She clung to him, holding him inside her with her arms and legs. “Don’t ever stop loving me.”

Every part of Grier was wrapped up in Fiona, but hearing her words, knowing she loved him despite all the stuff they were going through, made his heart soar. Tonight wasn’t about their playfulness or their marriage. It was about the way they felt about each other and showing it.

He moved slow, touched her face, kissed her with such tenderness, and it was as erotic as having her obey his bedroom commands. She arched against him, dragged her mouth across his throat, and made that lovely whimpering sound that always meant she was close. And her being close brought him to the edge.

“Fiona!” His cry landed in her hair as he rocked forward and she met him with a cry of her own.

And oh Lord, he was on the verge of tears. Nothing in his life had meant more to him than this night, her holding him, asking him to never stop loving him. And no matter what he did, for the rest of his life, he would earn the love she’d given back.

He held her through the night and woke to her stroking his cock. For a shameful minute, he considered that she might be using sex to try to convince him to let her and the baby stay, but by the time he had the thought, she added her mouth into the mix and further thought wasn’t possible.

Oh, God. This woman. She had magic in her. And she sat up, naked and glorious over him, and lowered herself onto him. He watched her. Such passion on her face, such emotion and ecstasy. He didn’t deserve so much, but damned if he would ever let her go.

When he moved his hips in time with hers, she used her legs to press him against the bed. “Let me.”

And it took all his concentration, all his strength to remain still and let her be in charge, and he did until the frenzy took over and he couldn’t just lie there anymore. He sat up and held her, rising and falling with her. Every time with Fiona was exciting, but today meant more which made it feel more… of everything.

When they finished, even after their bodies quit moving, she straddled his lap with her arms around his neck and her head buried in his shoulder. “I’m going to miss you.” She sniffed softly.

“Are you crying?”

She sat back far enough to see his face. The tears there almost killed him. “Of course I’m crying, you big ass. What if… something happens? And what if…”

He smoothed her hair. “Shh. Nothing bad is going to happen and you’re going to be back here as soon as possible. Maybe I’ll even come and get you. We can leave London with Kye for an hour or so and make love in the ocean.” And on the beach, and under the stars, in the rain, on a sunny afternoon.

Fiona cocked an eyebrow. “Is sex all you ever think about?”

There she was. His wife. “You’re sitting on me naked. What else would I be thinking about?”

She curled her fingers into his hair and pulled him in for a kiss that was neither gentle nor sweet, but hot as hell. “Well, maybe you should stop thinking about it and just… do it.”

So, he did.

Sage loaded Fiona’s bags into Jez’s car while Fiona stood in the living room watching Grier strap the baby into her car seat. If anything happened to him… she’d battled the lump in her throat all morning. Well, since she finally let him out of bed, anyway. She left her spot against the wall and put a hand on his shoulder.

He stood and wrapped her in a hug and she breathed him in, the scent of the soap she bought for him, the conditioner she’d rubbed through his hair, the scent of his skin that was simply Grier. God. She didn’t want to go. She would rather stay there and face death, but he was right. Their baby was more important than her pride at being sent away.

She stared at Grier. Aside from his incredible beauty, there was a strength and a tenderness that she would never have expected. And God help her, everything she noticed made her love him more, need him in ways she couldn’t have imagined were real.

“I’ll come and get you. I promise you. As soon as I know you’re safe here.”

And she believed him. “I knew I should have just dragged you to Mayberry.”

He leaned his forehead against hers. “We’ll find our Mayberry.” His gaze searched her face. “Who knows? You might even like it so much there, you don’t want to come back.”

“Is that how it was for you?” She didn’t want to go on that note, but she had to know.

“You, silly girl. I came back for you. It’s always been you. And it’s always going to be you.” He kissed her softly, so softly she wanted more but didn’t want to change the moment into something else. Instead, she laid her head over his chest and listened, etching the sound into her memory.

“Don’t stop loving me.”

He hugged her tighter. “I couldn’t if I tried.”

“And don’t forget me.”
