She laughed. “I’ll just take off the heels. It’ll do me good to get my toes in the sand.”
We made our way down to the beach. Liza did take off her heels, carrying them as we walked along the shoreline. The moon was nearly full, reflecting off the water, and the sound of waves created a soundtrack that was better than any music.
Romantic moonlit walks on the beach.
The saying was on every dating profile, but I never really thought about what that looked like. Until now. I got it. There was just something too good about the privacy. The intimacy.
“This has been perfect,” Liza said, slipping her hand into mine. “Thank you for tonight.”
“Thank you for saying yes.”
“I couldn’t say no. Not to you.”
I stopped walking and turned to face her. “You’ve gotten under my skin, Liza Jefferies.”
“Good,” she said, stepping closer. “Because you’ve gotten under mine too.”
I kissed her. Nothing too passionate, just a kiss that told her I was into her.
When we finally pulled apart, we were both smiling.
“We should probably get back,” I said.
“Five more minutes,” she said slightly breathless.
I would give her five-hundred minutes if that was what she wanted. We made out like teenagers. I felt her heels hit the top of my shoe and then her hands were running through my hair. I wanted her. Desperately. But I was too old to be trying to get sand out of my ass crack. I had a perfectly good bed and that was where I wanted her.
“Should we go home?” I murmured against her lips.
She knew what I was really asking. “Absolutely. I think we should hurry.”
We practically ran back to the car hand in hand, both of us grinning like idiots.

LIZA
Melody was on the couch scrolling through her phone when we walked into the house. I felt a little naughty. Darek and I had come up with a plan. He would pay her while I checked on Daisie. Then we would meet in his bedroom. We were both very worked up. My body hummed with the anticipation of what was to come.
“She went down like a dream,” Melody said, gathering her things. “We made friendship bracelets and watched Moana for the millionth time.”
Darek pulled out his wallet and paid her, adding an extra hundred. “Thanks for staying on short notice.”
I jogged upstairs and poked my head into Daisie’s room. She was asleep, the stuffed whale I gave her tucked against her. That made me smile.
I carefully shut the door and heard footsteps running up the stairs.
“She asleep?” Darek asked.
“Yep.”
He grabbed me, pulling me against him. His mouth found mine, hungry and demanding. I melted into him, nearly toppling over in the heels. All the restraint we had shown on the beach evaporated.
“I’ve been wanting to do this all night,” he murmured against my lips.
“Then don’t stop.”
He didn’t. His hands slid down to cup my ass, lifting me slightly, and I wrapped my arms around his neck. My loose skirt hiked up as my legs wrapped around his waist. I could feel his erection through his slacks rubbing against the very thin fabric of my lace panties. I groaned with pleasure.
