"Okay, good. I'm going to need you."

He nods, then turns back around and walks into his room.

Climbing the stairs, I continue with my message to Milo.

Reeve:

Need you tomorrow night. Got to gather supplies.

Milo:

Sounds kinky. What for?

Reeve:

Not a laughing matter you dick.

Going after Trix's ex.

Milo's door opens as I'm about to walk past it, and we both glance up from our phones.

"Why exactly are we going after her ex?" he asks.

I shove at his chest, shushing him as I push him inside his room and close the door behind us.

"Shut up, will you?"

He holds his hands up in surrender.

"Sorry. I didn't realize it was a secret."

Sighing, I shake my head, then run my fingers through my hair.

"He's a nasty piece of work, and he's done a number on her. He deserves some payback, and who better to dish it out than me."

Milo stares at me for a moment, then bursts out laughing.

"Fucking hell. You're so down bad for that woman, Reeve."

My brows furrow.

"Don't even try to deny it, man." He smacks me on the shoulder. "You can't focus on anything other than her when she's around. You get annoyed and grouchy whenever someone talks to her or about her. You watch her with little hearts in your eyes when you think no one is looking. You've moved her into your room, beaten up her dad, and plan on going after her ex. All within a day, might I add."

"I'm protecting her," I tell him with a shrug.

He rolls his eyes, reaching around me to open his door.

"You're falling for her," he states. "You'll have to stop denying it sooner or later, Reeve."

Shaking my head, I walk out of his room, and he closes the door behind me.

I stand in the hallway, staring at my own bedroom door for a few moments before I huff and knock.

"You can come in," Trix shouts from the other side.

Pushing the door open, I stop in my tracks at the sight of her bent over, towel slung over her head as she furiously rubs at the wet strands of hair.

My eyes travel up the length of her legs, stopping when I reach her rounded ass, mesmerized by the movement of it as she continues to dry her hair.
