Harlow looked toward the body. “I thought I'd feel—”

“What?” he asked.

“I don't know,” she said.

Wade's thumb wiped beneath her eye. “You don't have to feel anything tonight.”

She nodded, and that’s when it hit her. “Did you find Sarah?” Wade went still, and Harlow grabbed his vest. “Did you find her?”

His expression changed. “Yes.”

Harlow stopped breathing. “Is she all right?”

“We found her,” he said.

“Alive?” she asked.

“She’s alive.”

A sob broke from Harlow, and she covered her mouth with her hand. “Oh, my God.”

Wade pulled her back against him. “She's hurt. They took her to the hospital, and we sent Ripper with her.”

Harlow's heart dropped. “But she’s alive.”

“Yeah,” he breathed.

“And the other women?” she asked.

Wade looked at Butcher and nodded. “We rescued eleven women,” Butcher said.

Harlow stared. “Eleven?”

“We got eleven women out,” Wade said. Her knees weakened, but Wade held her up. “They are being checked out by the paramedics, and I’m sure that some of them will have to be sent to the hospital with Sarah.”

“Can I see her?” she asked.

“Not tonight,” he said. “Let the doctors take care of her for now.”

Harlow nodded quickly. “Okay.” She could accept that because Sarah was alive, and that was enough. For tonight, it had to be enough.

“What did they find to incriminate her father?” Princess asked.

Butcher's expression hardened. “Records, computers, manifests, and names.” His eyes moved toward the doorway where police had taken Richard. “We found enough to bury Kane.” Harlow closed her eyes. It was over—but not completely. There would be investigations, questions, trials, and the press to deal with. God, the headlines were going to be gruesome, but the women were out of the nightmare that her father and Frank created. Sarah was alive, and Frank couldn't hurt anyone again. But the best part of it all was that Richard Kane was in handcuffs.

Harlow opened her eyes and saw Princess standing a few feet away. “You okay?”

Princess looked at the bruise forming on her arm where Martin had grabbed her. “I'm good.”

Harlow left Wade long enough to cross the room, and she hugged Princess. She stiffened. “Okay.”

Harlow squeezed harder. “You helped me.”

“Yeah,” Princess said. “But you did most of the heavy lifting.

“You stayed with me,” Harlow said.

“Of course I stayed,” Princess insisted. “Where else was I going to go?”
