“That was amazing,” she whispered on a breath.

“You… were amazing,” he corrected her. “You get me so hot, so fast… Baby, you rob me of the ability to think of anything else but to make love to you.”

“You do the same to me,” she replied, turning her face to him.

“Don’t look at me like that,” he warned, “or I’ll get hard again, and then you’ll never get out of this shower.”

She smirked mischievously. “Later then?”

He brought his lips to her. “Oh, definitely later.” He kissed her.

“Let me wash you,” he offered.

She laughed and shook her head. “We both know where that leads.”

He grinned. “My bad.”

She reached for the soap, and while she lathered herself, he did the same.

When he was done, he stepped out of the shower to dry himself. Danielle turned off the water and stepped out onto the bathmat.

“Oh, I just realized,” she said. “I don’t have any dry clothes here.”

“I’ll get some from your room.” He finished drying himself. “Or rather, what’s gonna be Mason’s room now. Why don’t you take it easy today? You can ask Mason to help you with bringing your clothes and personal stuff in here. Take as much of the closet as you want.”

Because now that everybody in the house knew that they were mated, it was time that she moved into the master suite. Funny, he’d always thought that sharing a home, a bedroom, and a bed with a woman would make him feel claustrophobic, but the contrary was true. Knowing that her clothes would hang next to his in the same closet, her toothbrush next to his on the sink, filled him with happiness.

Eve found Flora in the pantry, which was a rather large room entirely filled with shelves, an additional refrigerator to the one in the kitchen, and two tall freezers.

“Flora? I was looking for you.”

Flora looked over her shoulder. “Yes, honey? That was quite some excitement earlier. Horrible what could have happened.”

Eve entered and pulled the door shut behind her. “Well, a different outcome would have been better for all of us.”

“Eve!” Flora put her hand to her chest. “I don’t want to hear you say such a thing.”

“It’s true, though. And once you hear what Jude threatened me with, you’ll think the same.”

Flora furrowed her forehead. “Threatened you?”

“Yes! He came to my room and accused me of lying about the love letters between Danielle and Dad. He wants to see them to prove that they weren’t written by Danielle.”

“Well, then show them to him. That’ll clear things up.”

“I can’t! I don’t have them. He’s given me twenty-four hours, and if I don’t produce them, he’s going to have Danielle throw me out of my own home!”

Tears threatened to choke off her words.

“Oh dear! That’s awful.”

Flora put her arms around her to comfort her. But it didn’t help.

“And you’re sure you saw those letters?”

“Of course, I’m sure.” Did even Flora doubt her words now?
