“Mmm, very glad.”

With his hands on her hips, he guided her up and down, so he could make small thrusts with his cock. Mona sighed contentedly, her head resting in the crook of his neck.

“Tired?” he asked.

“No.”

But he knew it was a lie. He rolled her off his body and spooned her. “Why don’t you close your eyes for a few minutes and rest?”

“And what are you gonna do?”

He chuckled and lifted her leg so he could slide his cock between her thighs and plunged into her welcoming sheath from behind. “That.”

“Oh.” She reached for his hand and pulled it onto her breast.

He moved slowly in and out of her, with gentle, shallow thrusts, with just enough friction so his cock remained in its aroused state.

“So you do like it slow after all, huh?” he whispered into her ear.

“Mmm.”

Monique stirred, and felt a hot body cradling her from behind. Immediately, everything that had happened during the night came back to her. Gray had taken her from behind, his movements tender and slow, and to her surprise he’d made her come even harder than before. He’d surprised her with how tender he’d been. None of her vampire lovers had ever shown such tenderness. Particularly not the good-looking ones: in general, good-looking men relied too much on their looks to keep a woman in their bed, rather than expert lovemaking. But Gray was different—good-looking, and a considerate lover. Not that she would tell him that. Compliments would make him too cocky.

Sated, she’d fallen asleep in his arms. It was something she didn’t do with her one-night stands. When the sex was over, she normally hightailed it out of the guy’s bed. But it had felt so good to be in Gray’s arms that she hadn’t been able to get up. Besides, their deal was that she would stay until sunrise.

“Good morning, babe,” Gray murmured into her ear and followed it up with sucking her earlobe into his mouth to lick over it with his tongue. “I’m sorry I fell asleep so quickly. I wish I could make it up to you right now, but I’ve got a shitload to do today.”

“Maybe tonight then?” The question was out before she could take it back. Had she just told him that she wanted to see him again? Why would she do that? She was setting herself up for disappointment.

“I would love to, but I’m in charge of this huge party tonight. It’s a family thing. But—”

“Forget it,” she interrupted quickly and sat up. How stupid! “Of course, you have plans. I shouldn’t have asked.”

Gray sat up behind her and wrapped his arms around her. He pressed a kiss to her shoulder blade. “How about you give me your cell phone number, and the moment I can get away, I’ll call you. It might be late though.”

Inside her, a war was raging. Should she give him her number, only to be sitting by the phone all evening hoping he’d call? Or should she cut her losses right now, and tell him that she had a party to go to as well? Making herself too available would give him the upper hand, and she didn’t want that kind of power dynamic, not even when it concerned a one-night stand—or a two-night stand.

“Please, babe, I wanna see you again,” he begged and planted tender kisses along her neck.

He didn’t sound like the kind of man who asked a woman for a phone number only never to call her. He was the one begging for the number. That changed things.

“All right,” she said, smiling to herself. “Give me your cell phone, and I’ll program it in.”

Gray jumped out of bed and went to the spot where they’d undressed each other in a hurry. He retrieved his cell phone from his pants pocket and walked back to her. In the light of day, he looked just as sexy and handsome as the night before—and he was sporting a hard-on of massive proportions.

Trying not to stare at his cock so she wouldn’t start to drool, she took the cell phone he handed her. He sat down next to her and watched her enter her cell phone number. She pressed the call button, and heard her own phone ring.

“Here you go, now I’ve got your number too.”

“Perfect.” He took the cell phone from her. “Five-O-Four? Isn’t that New Orleans?”

She looked at him. “Yes, that’s where I live.”

He smiled broadly. “If that’s not a coincidence, then I don’t know what is. I just applied for a job in New Orleans.”

“Really?” Was he just saying that so that she wouldn’t find it strange if he suddenly showed up in New Orleans to continue whatever this was? “Did you get the job?”
