She shot me a scrunched look.
“I’m over it. I want it off. Or a 3D-printed one.”
“I know someone we can see about that.”
A cute little laugh escaped her at that.
“What’s funny?”
“You just sound exactly like a mafia guy when you say things like that. I know a guy,” she said, dropping her voice low.
I snorted at that.
“Forgetaboutit.”
That might have even gotten a little laugh.
“Watch it or you’ll be sleeping with the fishes.”
That one definitely got a laugh. But more because of the mock-serious face she put on.
“Your mob references are a little dated, babe.”
“Well, luckily for me, I happen to have a teacher with lots of real-life experience to educate me.”
“That you do,” I said, leaning down and pressing a kiss to her lips.
And she did.
Have me.
Even though I had no idea what that meant.
CHAPTER NINETEEN
Caitlin
“I need clothes,” I said as Gav grabbed my hips from behind and pulled me flush against him, his lips going to my neck.
“You really don’t.”
“And my laptop charger. Before I get fired.”
“You can work for me.”
My smile was so big my cheeks ached.
The past forty-eight hours were sex-fueled and sleepy. And perfect. Completely and utterly perfect.
I was achy in unmentionable places.
I’d eaten more vegetables in two days than I had in the past two weeks.
And I was pretty sure I was falling in love with a ranking member of a New York mob family.
Who’d have thought I would ever be able to say something like that?
Though the past few weeks had shown me that I was capable of a lot of things I never would have known if desperation hadn’t pushed me to it.
